916 needed for PB static photoshoot

Hello all,

My name is Luke Brackenbury and I'm a staff writer for Performance Bikes magazine. I am trying to get hold of a near as standard 916. Single or dual seat but not an SP, Senna or SPS.

We're doing a feature in the magazine which requires a bike for a static photo. So it wouldn't need to be ridden at all.

I've tried a whole load of dealers and they're fresh out. If there's a kind owner out there who fancies helping out, they'll be rewarded with a pair of spanking new tyres.

We'd need to shoot the bike near Peterborough but it would be collected and drop backed to you by van.

I look forward to hearing from someone.

Luke Brackenbury

The man wants a 916, not a beaten to death 996!

Otherwise I would have offered him mine :D

good on you for asking PB, - MCN just used mine for editorial without asking, - holding back the For sale advert, - lucky i sold it through this message board so won't be spending my money on a MCN advert again, - Bitter? Yes they said I could have my money back and never gave it It's about principals or is it principles?

Hello again,

Thanks for all your positive replies regarding this.

The chosen bike will be appearing in the April issue. Which happens to be PB's 20th birthday. Because of this there is all sorts of features regarding things that have happened in the last 20 years of biking. One of the most important bikes we think, and I'm sure you all agree, was the launch of the 916.

Thanks again to those who have replied and mailed me.

It's nice not to get any abuse on a forum.

If you hang around long enough I'm sure somebody will come along :D

And if you ever want a bike for an article to help dispell the myth that Dukes are unreliable if they're not looked after properly then just give me a shout

Nice to see that you felt you could approach the club for help though Luke, nice one.

Frank

it is and was until he binned it at Rocky...

skidlids 21-Jan-2005 22:27

So Luke I hear you are racing in Mini Twins with North Glos, if that is the case then I should see you in the paddock or even out on the Grid some time. i'll either be on my 600SS desmo Due racer or my 916 in SoT.

Nice RGV special pics today, look forward to the write up

As for old mags I have copies of Motorcycle Mechanics that go futher back than my copies of New Motorcycling Monthly and I have the very first one of that mag.
