hi Dondy

what bike did you have before ?

Im sticking with the 748 for now.

tricky 24-Jan-2005 22:26

you'll not regret getting the 749. I've never looked back since owning mine.

The whole ducati experience is brillaint from riding to forums like this where all the folks are so helpfull and friendly.

tricky.

Dondy 02-Feb-2005 03:50

Thanks everybody!!

You guys are very warm and friendly.
My previous bike was Bandit 400. Now I hope to ride the best bike in its class. With all of your spirit, now I'm very confident to have DUCATI 749Dark!!

Tested ST4 once (it's bloody stabil), so I can't wait to have my DUCATI 749 Dark riding experience (hope more stabil than ST4). Too bad it doesn't have steering damper huh?

Warm regards,
Dondy

Dondy,
Welcome! You will find the gals and guys here very very knowledgable and full of spice! Helped me out a few times. I am in Japan and have two Dukes, 750SS and a new ST4 that I bought after being convinced by a number of folks here. What is the riding like in Indonesia. Are there a lot of good twisty roads. If so, the 749 will not be stable (LOL) but should be dragging your knees into the macadam!!
Good luck!

Dondy 02-Feb-2005 09:00

Bianchi-san,
There are a lot of goof twisty roads in Indonesia especially in mid area of Java & Sumatra island. Visit Indonesia sometime?

You can get the after market one's fitted which do not need the mounting point on the frame, yellow is right they do not come with one as standard sadly.

Welcome to the club matey, all the best with your new bike and ride safe....

Regards

ScottyB

Dondy 03-Feb-2005 01:53

Thanks Scotty!
But how to fit the damper without mounting point on the frame? appreciate yr next advise. Cause I saw in internet some of the darks come with the mounting (if I'm not mistaken US version) and some don't. I don't wether my dark will come with the mounting or not.

PS: by the way, does anyone know how much bhp of the dark? Sorry if already discussed.

TIA (thanks in advance)
Dondy

108 BHP for 2005.

I should try to get to Indonesia and get a guided tour of the roads!!
Cheers

Dondy 03-Feb-2005 04:52

108 is for bhp or hp?
Ducati.com stated 108hp at 10,000rpm, not bhp.

Whenever u want to go to Indonesia, drop me an email.

You need a proper exhaust mate!

Its got one on now but not a termi, so dont know if that matches "proper exhaust" I've gone for the WSB look a like. At the moment I think the only difference is noise :) since theres no ECU change.

Its up at Ducati Leeds at the moment getting its 2nd Service, looking forward to its return and better weather.
