\"NEED 4 SPEED\" (indicated) Well i just wondered what was you best ever (INDICATED SPEED)???????????? I'm excepting the fact that all speedos are out! But i'm intrigued to know what you have seen on your little DIALS:lol: I'm not interested in the reckles arguments ;) just looking to see what you guys have experianced ! Well the First time i SAW (JOINED) the 180MPH club was on a tuned up 92 FireBlade :D The Clock indicated 180 and the bike waz flat as a wiches tit!!:lol: And The second time i exceeded 200Mph Indicated,was on my Tricked up Hayabusa with Herindoors on the back and although i had to shut her down has the front end had started to get a bit light:lol::lol: The indicated speed was 212 mph this was in switzerland and on a slight down hill stretch! so what have you done and on what?????????:cool: |
FZR 'fahsand EXUP indicated-off the clock,...........real world 176!(As timed with the PB speed gun at Bruntingthorpe airfeild) 999 (standard) indicated-169,on my own personal race track,....ahem....!:lol: |
Not big and not clever ! dont think it is but man has always tried to go faster! otherwise we would walk everywhere:lol: |
about 1,300mph on Concorde but it didn't feel very fast cos I was looking at the horizon. I think I saw 140mph indicated on the bandit but it was hard to tell as my visor was trying to replace my teeth... |

pmsl :lol::sing::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: |
Tuned Blackbird at Bruntingtorpe, Speedo off the clock at 205mph+ Actual speed through the timing lights only 186 which shows how inaccurate the clocks can be. ZZR1100 on the road, abroad on those Autobahns 190 something. In England 70mph coz thats the limit and if you do any more you are naughty. |
155 in a volvo....perk of the job.;) |
Well I'm naughty. 155mph and it was still pulling, I wanted to keep going but I was coming up on traffic. |
Quote:
just running it in then Andy:lol::lol::lol:;) |
Saw 180 on my gsxr 750 wt :cool: On a private road of course :lol::lol::lol: |
170mph --audi RS6 at castle combe 145mph-- audi 2.0 16v local race track 155mph --kawasaki GPZ1100 -local race track:D 190mph-- honda blade-local race track:D all speeds were indicated on clocks -- yeah have heard that blade clocks arent that good!!!!!!!! my 600ss has indicated 130 but didnt feel like it what is top end suppose to be? |
Top speed on 600SS is 190km or 118mph according to my owners manual. I've had my 600SS up to 120mph on the speedo but it didn't feel like it and it seemed to have a fair bit more to go. Even 40mph on my 600SS feels like 30mph Fastest indicated speed I've seen is 155mph on a ZZR. |
Indicated 175 at the end of Revett Straight on my old R1, just before thinking that I could use better brakes :o |
Most I've seen was 175 on my old 996, and she was still pulling, but traffic put heed to that... Obviously I was on the autobahn... :D |
I had a blurred view of something in the region of 160 but my eyes were watering and the slight curve that is normally there suddenly felt like a 90 degree bend so i chickened out and shut off. :D |
my r6 was saying 188 but i had changed the gearing although we worked out it was pulling a genuine falt out 160 which was scary as feck really, it was eating my mates zx7r up like it wasnt there makes my 748 seems low really if you want stupid how about 142 in a f reg ford orion 1.6i ghia when i was young and daft |
177 - on my first R1, passed a peugeot full of Gendarme types running back from Cannes to get the ferry. Realised in the morning that I'd got the date wrong and the ferry was that night......14 hours Cannes to Oxford, including the ferry trip :) |
I haven't ever had a bike capable of more than 130-ish, so the fastest I've seen is: 147 on KeefyB's 999 145 on Sparkin's 888 140 on Fordie's 996 All on relatively short straight bits of the Bxxx private test track. Thanks guys, I was trying not to thrash 'em. Fastest I've ever been was 170-ish in an Aston Martin DBS V8 Vantage What felt like the fastest was navigating on the Welsh International Rally... flat out downhill on a straight bit of forest track. The car was only geared for 110-120 flat out, what made it feel ultra quick was the fact that the car was waltzing from side to side on a gravel surface and there was a sheer 200 foot drop just 2 feet to my left :o:o:o |

Now that rally bit does sound scary:o I did a few laps round Donnington on the back of Karl Harris on the back of an Aprillia Mille and that scared the living daylights out of me, thought i was gonna die. |
pretty sedate 140ish into the left hander at the end of the start/finish straight at cadwell (funny enough more speed than I did at silverstone!) and top of 5th gear on park straight (too scared to look at the speed:)) on my 916 if you have a new style saab, beware the speeds are bang on! I had a gps type thingy in mine which measures speed to with 1mph apparently, and the most my speed is out is 2mph from 30 thru to 125....bit scary as I always assumed 90 on the clock is 80 real life! Explains why peolpe following me would complain of my speeding tho! Some would be showing ton plus! |
Indicated 165mph on my old R6. About 130mph on my 748S - had much more to give too. Indicated 145mph in my Beemer racing a mate along the local race track. Mum's the word. ;) Ade. [Edited on 28-1-2005 by ath748] |
170mph on the speedo of the sps @ 9500 rpm (ish) i.e. still 1500 rpm to go..... |
AndyB did your volvo have reflective stickers all over it with flashing lights on a bar across the roof? |

Never a true word said in jest or something like that Bradders...Mossy got gatsoed that day i think:o |
Had 158 on the clock of my old 749S. 155 on the clock of my 996R - however I was following a Gixxer 750 and SP2, both of whom indicated 170. Both these were in Germany and in this country I never exceed the spedd limit except when following Charlotte!!! ;) |
152 on the 749 160 on the ZX9R 165 on the ZX12R (probably a bit more but 2 busy looking where I was going) 130 on the ZXR400 160 on the R6 tricky. :saint: |
145 indicated on my XJ900F on some London racetrack, I forget the name of it. The wind got under me and tried to tear me off, so I held on tighter. Dropped the throttle when the front end started to come up :o and, lo and behold, there was the Dartford Tunnel. :puzzled: At Cadwell (well near it, anyway) I saw 164 on the 999S. Plenty more in the bank, but that racetrack seemed to have a roundabout on it so I had to slow down. Oops ... 125 on my 750Sport - dag, that thing is slow. 120 on my old Suzy GT750A - what a bus! I just don't get the urge to do hyper-silly on the roads these days ... I hate to thing I'm becoming sensible. :( I've always had more fun cornering than speeding. [Edited on 28-1-2005 by Loz] |
Off the clock on the 888,side by side with Rooney and Wheelspin indicating 170(the other guy in a car:o 190+ )He was gone:mad: |
about 165 on a busa, 3am on the m5.more to go but i bricked it. flat out in 6th on my nc30. and about 110-120 on scaramangas 996. |
145mph-- Hon..hon..hon..unrecognised word 160+mph in a Shappire cosworth, which had been breathed op on by a guy who was working for mountune preparing fords WRC cars at the time. Obviously on private roads |
Had the 998 off the clock with wheelspin and sparkin trying to keep with a TVR he pulled away must of been doing 190+,also been 170 on a ZZR1100 and 160 in a Porshe 993 which I must say on the twisties you would have a job to stay with it . |
23MPH --- Shopping trolley------ Tesco,s Car Park. would have been faster had it not been so full :lol: 4D |
Quote:
I`ve heard 996`s called many things,but never a shopping trolley:lol::lol::P:lol::lol: |
tescos shopping trolleys arent the best for speed ok they are extremely reliable but in my experience if you dont pack them properly this will in fact effect the handling with almost catastrophic events taking place the wieght distribution must be equal on all four wheels as there is limited compression /rebound settings and no preload or damping preset but once the fine art of tuning the packing is achieved speeds in excess of 25mph are safely attainable as long as the white lines in the tescos race tracks are avoided at all costs -the tyres are made from a hard acrylic compound which are fine for long distance touring but are not made for sprints to the car as enough heat cannot be put into them to attain any grip what so ever in such a short time--one mod that can be successfull is the wheels from a marks and sparks trolley (softer compound) can be modded on to thee more robust tescos chassis no cans of alchol was ill treated whilst typing this post |
:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: Sparkin and 998 :lol::lol::lol: 4D |
Warp factor 2 ..courtesy of mr sulu...:lol: 172 on my old Honda Fartblood 150 in a Lotus esprit GT V8 Those speeds werent held too long..but the best fun I had was running my wife to hospital when her waters broke !!! An indicated 140mph in my celica for about 5 minutes at 2 in the morning on a dual carriageway..felt fantastic !! Engine was ticking a bit when I got there !!? Nat |
http://hotproducts.alibaba.com/manuf...g_Trolley.html more shopping trolley nonsense check out the red one with the trelliss type chassis -- now that does look as tho it could attain a decent speed:D:D:D doesnt come in yellow tho [Edited on 30-1-2005 by monstermob 998] [Edited on 30-1-2005 by monstermob 998] |
