i cant find the \'big bore\' thread.

anyone remember what section it was under, i cant seem to find it?

Rattler 06-Feb-2005 00:29

Do you mean the one that was around on Friday?

It seems to have vanished!!!

domski 06-Feb-2005 00:38

Have a word with Chris B

chicken 06-Feb-2005 01:15

hahahaha....plop

That's me laughing my head off with a big cheesy grin attached!

dickieducati 06-Feb-2005 11:01

i have to say i think its very poor when things are just taken of the board and no reason given

butch890 06-Feb-2005 12:26

Richard,i looked at this particular thread several times on friday and once again it apeared as though the self distruct button had been pressed ,i guess thats why it was pulled.
It seems to me that against a lot of peoples expectations the series has taken of with a lot more interest than expected,we look like having a full grid, with a great diversity of bikes and now there seems to a faction tryiny to put obsticals in the way of the series.
I for one am looking forward to putting the tyre issue behind us (I know for a fact that the 620 big bore kit has been put on hold By John Hackett as he felt that would be best for the series) .
As a suggestion i would like to see a section within the desmo due section that was open only to entrants in the series where direct questions can be asked and answered.
Butch.
P.S see seperate post for news on the JHP Ducati team entry

Have to agree with dickie, just to remove it is not in the spirit of this club. I cant recall anything that personal or insulting, and this just seems to be censorship because some dont agree with others.

Remember, the world is not all flowers and kittens....

Iconic944ss 06-Feb-2005 15:30

Timely post as I was just trying to find any outcome to the thread myself....did it get personal? Abusive?? Slanderous ???

Fordie 06-Feb-2005 19:34

No, But it did look like the Goal Posts were going to get wider ? 4D

Glyn 06-Feb-2005 19:58

the idea that there should be a private posting area for desmo entrants only, is crazy.
just cause we are not all entering ourselves, does not mean as club members we are not following the series with interest.
i think the whole idea of our own race series is supurb but lets not get an us and them metality about it.

AK 06-Feb-2005 20:12

Dickie - if its any help - I printed it off just before I left work, for Alan to read..... :)

Rattler 06-Feb-2005 20:28

we don't know the reason it was pulled though?

I know that the admins can delete a thread, but so can the originator - who's thread was it?

Tim:ninja:

TP 06-Feb-2005 20:49

The originator of the thread was Phil (fil2).

I would like to know what happened to the thread as well.

fil2 06-Feb-2005 22:31

Guys

I pulled the thread under no direction from any1 but on my own iniative. The question was " how does a standard 600ss compete with a big bored 620 " as 620 big bores are not being entered this year the question and its related issue's are no longer relevent.

Phil.

Ps..its my thread and i can do what i want with it .... nerdy ner ner...i also have been away from the pc for 2 days otherwise i would have posted as soon as i saw dickies post.

Phil

Phil

TP 07-Feb-2005 11:23

Well I just got her out of the van and I'll be riding it to work in a minute or two.

It's a 2003 model 620ie. For you DD race fans that means it already has the twin front disks but is a 5 speed, not a 6 speed like Dickies. And it doesn't already have a 'slipper' of some description, like Dickies.

It's in primer ready for her real paint job and has done 10299 miles. Starts first press of the button and is as sweet as a very sweet thing. Ange (my wife to those who don't know) has just had a sit on it and is already talking about what colour she wants when I'm done with it ....

Hrmmm ...

dickieducati 07-Feb-2005 11:33

has it got the 655 engine variant like mine?

oooooppppsss.......can............ worms... .everywhere!

I think, given the extra ballast Dickie carries, we can agree to let him make some extra engine mods.....:frog:

Besides, I hardly think a 655 kit would make up for your skills defecit. Try Nitrous!!

dickieducati 07-Feb-2005 11:45

keep 'em coming! :P

fil2 07-Feb-2005 12:00

I think it was a typo and should be a 955i.................

:frog:

chicken 07-Feb-2005 12:00

So you got it then Tony?
In that case, I'll be bringing the desmodue bike on Monday to shame you with my rear-wheel erm....42bhp...

TP 07-Feb-2005 12:25

Well, I rode it to work and took a detour on the way to my private test track *cough*

Got up to 110 nicely before a corner was approaching and there was more to come. As for handling, the feedback from the front could best be described as 'remote'. I know it's there but it's not telling me much. Have to get all that sorted out!

It's booked in for some minor fettling soon so we'll see what comes of that

bradders 07-Feb-2005 20:36

apolgies to the web team from me for accusing them of unwanted censorship!!:)
