Collection has just grown

Well after about 10 years of just dreaming, it is now becoming a reality
Just got a RC30 :sing:
ok its pretty old technology but for me it is my dream bike
just hope i wont be to scared to ride this thing.
just need to flog a couple of others to afford it now

JPM 15-Feb-2005 15:52

Good on you Paul, after that long chat with our mate Rob at Oulton, I could see you really, REALLY wanted one....

TP 15-Feb-2005 15:54

Nice, good work.

I hammered past a guy on one of those in the mountains near Canberra once, I though I was king-*****e for mugging him on my 250 but now I realise that he was protecting his investment - :frog: I was young ....

:D

crm250 15-Feb-2005 15:55

Cheers, did i come over that strongly ?
Its a G plate Euro spec bike (large headlamps and mirrors and titchy indicators) full power with 20500 kms on it.
minor marks but no damage for £6700
Few quid but using it daily it shoudnt devalue
should have it in a fortnight hopefully

ali 15-Feb-2005 15:55

Many, many congrats! :D:D:D

It's always been one of my dream bikes too after reading a PB article about one that had been blueprinted by Tony Scott.

Is it a UK model or the Japanese one? I looked at a couple of imports last year but they were all 77bhp and was told the de-restriction process was pricey.

Either way it's a stunning bike and deserves to be ridden to the edge on a track near you soon!

Incidentally, I saw one at a Silversone TD last year being thrown around. What a lovely noise......

FINALLY :D

way to go mister... I was looking at Rob's collection yesterday thinking it was a nice bike along with the 955

BDG 15-Feb-2005 16:25

Congratulations, excellent piece of kit, always wanted one of those as well. Much prefer RC30 to the RC45

Bloody good price, presume you imported it as its in kms, or someone else has.

A friend had a beautiful, well sorted one a few years back but i never had the money to spare when he sold it, which is one of my regrets.

One of the best, if not the best Jap bikes ever made IMHO, ENJOY.

crm250 17-Feb-2005 19:44

Ooooh and just bought a RC45 rear wheel too, so now i can fit some decent rubber and not some dodgy old 18" 170 rubbish :bouncy:

Twinfan 17-Feb-2005 21:10

There are one or two at BAT motorcycles. There were two there when I went to get our Aprilia RS250 at the end of last summer, and I think there's still one left. They were around £8000.

crm250 26-Feb-2005 17:01

its just gone to motrac in ellesmere port for a service and carb clean, then its new rubber and off for test so should be roadworthy in a couple of weeks but no rush at this rate of weather.
Anyway just incase anyone has no idea of what a RC30 looks like, here she is

Very very nice ;)

crm250 just thought I'd let you know theres a nice little feature on the RC30 in Junes Classic Motorcycle Mechanics. Not a mag I normally buy but I noticed an RC30 peeping at me from the top shelf!

I know the owner (Norman Blakey) vaguely as hes mates with a good mate of mine. I was talking to him a year or so ago and he is obsessed with getting hold of as many classic bikes as possible! He seemed to be buying something every week and everything he bought was mint/low mileage and usually one owner. He seemed prepared to pay top money for such bikes, I think he sees it as some sort of pension fund.

Quite funny as the 3 of us were discussing which bikes we would buy as part of a collection and my friend mentioned an RC45 and I a RC30 and he did not seem too familar with them at the time. Now he has a 30 and is looking for a 45!

He does mention he is also after a 888 as well so anyone with a minter for sale get in touch. Hes a very nice bloke and is in the envious position of being able to build a lovely collection.

Green with envy

Very nice my first big bike at 18 was a NC24 the bike before the NC30, the NC24 was the first production bike with a single sided swing arm. had the same 400cc v4 with gear driven cams awseome sounding with a can on and it was built to last to:D:D

Love a nc30 now for a second bike to.

domski 22-May-2005 00:27
