Calling Mountain Bikers

This is a long shot but is there anyone who does mountain biking that’s got an old shape Marin Rift Zone, Mount Vision, etc with the discs mounts on the rear swinging arm. I am looking at getting the mount welded on as mine is an early version without and I would like to see how Marin did it. Some measurements and a photo would be a great help.

Cheers,

Steve

Hello mate,

I havent got my old Mount vision pro anymore but I have still got a DISC MOUNT for the rear swing arm that would have bolted onto it. If this is any help give us a shout.

The mount was for Hope disc brakes. I still have all the wheels, discs, calipers, master cylinders and levers etc. All Hope and mavic with Hope hubs. All in very good nick. Would just need a service.

They have been boxed since I moved onto a Canondale hardtail a few years ago.

Like I said, If any of it is any good to you, give us a shout. Its about to go onto e bay anyway.

DC.

I've got a 2004 Mount Vision if that's any help.

If you don't get this sorted let me know as my mate is coming this week and he kinda has some connections with Marin so its shouldn't be a problem.

Walenut 27-Feb-2005 20:36

DC that sounds promising let me know what sort of price you’re looking for, its hope stuff I’m looking to fit.

Dibble, yes any info would be useful.

Lily, thanks for that.

Desmondo, the 04 is totally different to mine but cheers mate.

Is the piccy from a '99 Marin Wolf ridge any good to you?? It orginally came with cable disc brakes then the dealer offered a hydraulic upgrade. The brake system is hope
The bike got a lot of use for a while but I hope the name is right cos I haven't been near the thing for years!!!!!!

let me know,

Regards,

Ray

Yes I think it had the same swinging arm cheers mate

I had a mount vision quite a few years ago with Pace forks and Hope discs front and rear, from memory the rear mount was connected via a ball joint type arm from the rear v-brake mount to the rear spindle.. if you can follow that

Walenut 28-Feb-2005 22:17

Yes I've seen these was it any good?

Yeah it worked fine, the only problem if you could really call it a problem was the caliper itself was on a bracket which hooked around the spindle, so when you removed the rear wheel it was a bit fiddly getting the wheel in and out.

But for operation and function it worked a treat.

Cheers mate.

Steve
