And, whilst I'm at it....

Looking on the tecmoto website, I see these aren't the "common-or-garden" 4-pad calipers.

But are they really worth £350 each??

Still might be a bargain for someone.

Anyone run these?

The screen looks like a 749 or maybe a SSie screen. It's not a 748 one though.

Those calipers are the "common-or-garden" 4 pads. £135 a piece new.The lettering has been painted in red. If he gave £350 a piece for them then OUCH!!
The ones on the tecmoto site at £350 are the GP calipers but not 4 pad.

deej 03-Apr-2005 20:36

yep seen that 1 and laughed, thats a r1 screen at a quick guess

have you seen the art carbon fibre screen for sale on there, im sure it must be april fools by mav

the 4 pad calipers are about that,£168 each plus pads i think. i sold a set on here for £200

These are expensive, but not quite as expensive as listed though.

If you can get them cheap enough they are a major improvement.

The silver ones are fitted to some of the 749/999 range - and the same ones in gold are fitted to the 998s, 998r and 996r.

If you can get them cheap enough they are a major cost effective improvement. You should pay around £150 - £180 for the pair I reckon.

Yup
Cheap and cheerful calipers as fitted to 998`s etc , £ 135 new. Please tell me that no onewill will pay £350 each!

moto748 03-Apr-2005 20:54

Thanks for putting me right there, nelly.

Studying the pix on the techmoto site more closely, you're right of course.

At any rate, he's mis-representing quite a bit, isn't he?

Think I'd as soon pay £135 for brand-new, than who-knows-what for some dodgy painted second-hand ones.

RickyX 04-Apr-2005 15:03

I paid £175 for a set of those calipers (no hoses though adam:lol: ) - however I did pay extra due to the fact that they were originally on Lord Tim's 996R so it was well worth it!! :sing:

Don't know if Tecmoto still sell them at that price, or if it includes VAT???
The latest Brembo rrp is about £150 a piece, but that does include Supersport spec' pads. Pretty good value
