Are we even sure there is a practice on the 30th. Usual New Era procedure is to run practice sessions on Sunday morning for Sunday only entrants (ie., us). These are the normal 10 minute open track, best lap time is taken as your qualifier for grid position.

Cadwel Park is organising a practice day on the Friday (29th) for anyone with a race licence (this is not unusual the friday before a race weekend). You can book full day or afternoon only directly with the circuit (not New Era).

It's nearly time!!!!

in the original paperwork it said practice on the Saturday - and there has been no updates since then

Sure this is normal procedure but on the race list it does say " practise session " on the 30th April......

Maybe the DSC has organised a slot for us but its in what format.?

Phil

I understood there was going to be a practice at the end of racing on Saturday along with a Photocall, question is will mine and AKs bikes be ready in time those few extra hours on Saturday evening could make all the difference.

AK 05-Apr-2005 11:38

Skiddy - the big bore arrived last nite -and is now on (tho it doesnt have the later barrels as we were promised, so need to do compression tests etc).

Zaust to be started at the end of the week, but DLS have obviously got good taste - and also one other, as they have just arrived with Mark for systems to be done too:o

lots more 'bits' to do for AK tho..........

C, now playing the lonely housewife during the run-up to Cadders:sniff:

slightly off topic but has anyone received their paperwork from New Era yet? Sent my cheques and forms off a while ago and have already received my ACU licence...

dickieducati 05-Apr-2005 11:50

chi,

just phoned them myself this morning as wanted to make sure everything was in place. bascially they have had a run of weekend meetings so dont think they will send out the entries till maybe one week before the meeting. they normally send them out when the entires close which is 16th of april in this case anyway.

I usually get my New Era paperwork about 2 weeks before the meeting, they deal with each meeting in turn and with the amount of other meetings they are running amongst their various championships this is the way things have to be done. So its best to try and stay off the phone to them for another week or so.

Finally I booked the trackday organised by the Cadwell cricuit.

It's Friday the 29th of April, £90 for the full day and it saves me to go to Cadwell twice in 2 weeks. I think it's the best way to feel the race temperature for 3 days :D:D:D:D

A tent and a bike (and a missus...), life will be (almost...) beautiful for 3 days

Booked in for the acu test day on 29th same as Tonio.
Speculation here but I wasn't going to rely on the Sat (maybe) practice just in case race day runs over due to stoppages.

Monty 06-Apr-2005 01:46

New Era offered us a special practice session at the end of Saturdays races to allow all the DesmoDue riders a 'shakedown' on track before proper practice and racing on Sunday-this assumes that they have time so is not guaranteed.
I spoke to Phil and Jim Parker at Cadwell over Easter and they confirmed that they are snowed under with paperwork since this will be the 7th meeting they have run since 13th March-and two of those are two day events so effectively 9 meetings!

ermm.......all I can say is that I will have a running bike on the grid. It'll be running when Nelly gets it back to me and it won't have moved until the big day. How long it lasts after that is up to the gods!
