999 bp exhaust.............akropovic or termi???

want a new full system for 2004 bp...

want a termi system but also considering akropovic,
does anyone have an akropovic on their bike and what do you reckon to it.

also if it`s a termi who`s doing the best prices for a 54mm system?

ta very much .:puzzled:

The only thing I'd say about it is that because the Termi's look like the standard pipes they are less likely to attract attention from plod... if that's important to you.

ian johnson 11-Apr-2005 14:01

not too fussed about being pulled as other things would attract attention anyway.

just after comments on sound/noise compared to termis
power i would expect to be similar .

A mate of AndyB had a full system for sale.Might be worth a U2U.

nathanhu 11-Apr-2005 19:15

i had the full 57mm system fitted to my 999s last year
it was a bit of a bugger to get lined up
the old style end boxes used to split (i went though 7 in the end)see att pic
the new ones are stronger ,but ive yet to see one!!!
its on back order...........
and the problem with the old cpu is thst if you dont tell the dealer he´ll stick in the red key and lock the cpu to the bike(€800)
but the good news ... loads of power compared to standard
looks great
not too loud 89.6db before i was black flaged

Andyb's mate is Rob at Riverside.
I was going to have the system off him if Leeds couldn't get my ECU. When I told him last week it was sorted he still had it, excellent price to. May be worth a U2U to Andy or if you like I have Rob's mobile number.

If you are looking at full systems check out the Leo Vinci. I have one on mine and it is excellent :D

i would like to get a full termi system for my 1st choice .

akropovic is second choice because i can geta full system from work very cheap and a good price on a power commander would just need filters .

will u2u andyb also.

cheers for input so far......

I've just ordered the Leo Ti end can and have been told it doesn't come with a chip as its not needed. Did the full system have an ECU or require changes??

I have the 57mm Leo Vinci full system. It does not come with a new ECU, I had a power commander fitted and setup on a dyno.

Ooh, I hadn't planned on that, ducati9.net show it as coming with a new ecu and fiters, might have to check this all out before I get it. Been quoted 4 weeks for delivery from Italy

Why not just buy an R1? If you want more power. Why would you want loads of noise on a bike that already goes like stink? If you want to go faster why not sort the suspension out with the same bucks?

ian johnson 17-Apr-2005 11:01

after changing from a 748r with loud cans i find my 999 to be too quiet you have to have a better sound,
everyone spends their own money on what they see fit or everyones bikes would all look and sound the same.

when you go to a mega meet you wont find 2 dukes the same and that highlights my point.

i want sound and driveability so thats what i`m spending on now next point of call after that will be to kais for suspension tweeking if thats ok.
