Started this in another thread but got lost...

I have entered this for DD race practice? Whats a few 998's and Mille's between friends?

Any one else?

dickieducati 13-Apr-2005 14:18

Might be:rolleye:, might not:rolleye:......

I thought this was going to be a secret squirrel pre-race race, pre-test test, but it looks like the whole DD field is in there!! Should be a great laugh either way, although I'm not so sure the SoT boys will be quite so overjoyed about having a rolling chicane to navigate...

Steve M 13-Apr-2005 14:33

I allways entered my 600 Rotax single in the 1300 races at Cadwell and it was fine, the straights are quite short, and anyway it's just damn good fun hassling the big stuff.

Yeah there's a few dark horses getting around. Looks like a decent number of DD racers will be 'showing their hand' earlier than expected.

Should be a good laugh if nothing else. Hopefully we won't slow the big boys up too much :D

Tonio600 13-Apr-2005 16:06

How can I enter the SOT (?) race ?

TP 13-Apr-2005 16:09

It's on your New Era entry forms, you just select the additional races to enter. It costs a little bit more but it will be 'interesting' :)

Tonio600 13-Apr-2005 16:15

so I think it's too late... Next time I will try to read better the form.
:barfy::barfy::barfy::barfy::barfy::barfy:

I will have to watch you, but it may be very interresting too.

Tonio600 13-Apr-2005 16:16

Even my smileys are too wrong. What a bad day.

Steve M 13-Apr-2005 16:26

tonio

as you have allready entered DD it might be worth getting in touch with New Era, if there is still space on the grid they will probably allow you in the SoT race.

TP 13-Apr-2005 16:27

I wouldn't worry about it too much, if you ring New Era and tell them you'd like to enter the SOT as well they may send out a form or process it over the phone?

Give it a go.

domski 13-Apr-2005 23:18

I'll be doing SoT on Saturday (and Sunday I think too)

I think Fil2 is having a bash on Saturday :o

Tonio600 14-Apr-2005 01:50

And what is the SOT race ?
I may call them tomorrow but I have no idea of the kind of bikes which will race in it... my form's gone a long time ago...

Tonio-SOT=Sound of Thunder, which is up to 1000cc singles and twins so a DesmoDue bike fits right in, and in my opinion could be competitive at Cadwell Woodland as the straights are pretty short so not too much space for the bigger bikes to get wound up. Give Phil at New Era a call 01920 444205-he was sorting out the entries when I spoke to him yesterday so you may be able to enter.

SOT won't be for me...
I didn't think the amount of extra money was so high.

I already pay £185 for the practice day and the DD races.
I can't spend £120 more (£95 for the SOT and £25 to become a full New Era member) :(

It should only be an extra £5 to become a full New Era member - you've already paid £20. So it should be £100.

Hi,

Just spoken to Emma at New Era. The fees are as follows:

Full New Era Members:

Sat £95
Sun £95

Special DD New Era Members:

Weekend 'upgrade' to membership £10
Sat £95
Sun £95

or

Special DD New Era Members:

Permanent 'upgrade' to membership £15
Sat £95
Sun £95

Those that have sent cheques do not need to send another one. New Era will collect the money on the day.

There is still plenty of space in SoT on Saturday. :D Get in there......

Cheers,

ali

£5 is ok, but £95 when you have already paid them is too much for me :D
Maybe the day I will have more money or some sponsors...

I mean the practice on Friday, it's a track day organised by the circuit.
