Help required for ducati model anorak !!

Can anyone help..?

I know Protar made a selection of 851/888 models both in kit and ready made form, and my missus wants to get one for my birthday ! (got the SP4..looking for racing versions, the strada, SP5 or SP0 versions). Like a muppet..I forgot to bid on one that came up on ebay recently, and the SP5 listed on ebay in the states cant be shipped to the UK.

Any help/advice appreciated..im cack at finding stuff on the net! (wheres Antonye when you need him..:D)

Cheers
Nat

I bought the Tamiya 1:12 Doug Polen 888 kit in a model shop at the weekend for £16. It's been discontinued now, but you may find the odd one knocking about like I did. Might be worth a call to a few model shops?

I've got this one too, superb detail if you put the effort in. It came with the Polen or Falappa stickers - mines in Fallapa spec:)

Mine will be Fallapa too then - didn't realise there are two sets of decals! I haven't started it yet.

Did you use all the hundreds of paints they suggest, or just the core ones? I bought silver, bronze and 'carbon fibre'. I'm hoping that will be enough!

I am building a italeri Ducati Desmosedici, about half way through at the min.

I have even managed to source the malbro stickers for the side panel and nose cone to replace the blank ones that come with the kit

I've got most of the paints, some are close enough to others to not bother, but I've done a few models so they get used eventually. The carbon bits usually have a carbon decal on them.

RD350LC
Harada TZ250
Bevel 900SS
888 Falappa
Hailwood rep
916

All Tamiya - the detail is very good on all of them, but is even better on the later ones.
