What Minichamps bike is this???

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...LanguageToggle

Spied this on eBay (Germany delivery only :( ) and it's listed as a Hodgson 2000. It can't be as it's a factory 2000 bike by the look of the decals. Any ideas?

Cant be Hodgy's bike,he never rode in Infostrada colours,.....did he??:puzzled:
I would say its either a Foggy or Bayliss test bike.

Very useful

Twinfan 14-Apr-2005 23:38

All it says is that it's a Hodgson 2000. Infostrada riders in 2000 (these are the 2000 decals) were Foggy, Bayliss, Bostrom, Borja and Cadalora. Minichamps doesn't list a test bike as a previous model and I can't see the rider number on the bike. Also, the 2000 WSB bikes had titanium termis not carbon!

A strange one!

Corser was on the Aprillia in 2000.

chicken 15-Apr-2005 16:19

haven't you lot got some trains you need to be spotting? :P

antonye 15-Apr-2005 16:41

The 122001204 number is the 2000 Hodgson INS bike, but the model is the 2001 Bayliss InfoStrada test bike!

Twinfan 15-Apr-2005 17:48

I didn't know they made the Bayliss test bike - I've never seen it listed anywhere...

adam 15-Apr-2005 17:53

worth a word to the seller maybe?

Just asked the seller for details about this bike and for a clearer picture, see what happens.

[Edited on 15-4-2005 by adam]

adam 15-Apr-2005 21:45

the seller has just sent me different pictures and it has the number 1 on the number boards. looks like a Bayliss bike but didnt know he rode a black bike. Did he have a test bike? i will try and get a link to the pics.

If they could ship outside of Germany that would be worth a punt. A Bayliss test bike isn't listed anywhere and it's quite clearly in the wrong box. A rare one?

Festa748 16-Apr-2005 00:44

AM i good told you its a very rare test bike

Has any one here actulay bid on this ??

Bionicle 16-Apr-2005 21:40

the box number the guy quotes 122001204 is a Ducati 996 2000 Hodgson, Neil

http://www.toys.brandora.de//Product...PPs=3&ItoWL=0&

adam 16-Apr-2005 23:40

Bionicle, i have put a bid in, will have to see how high it gets. looks interesting though.

deej 17-Apr-2005 01:53

chase you for it

not thats its a hodgy rep, nver rode for gse so ts probably another ebay scammer on the go. why buy a bike youve never seen before

adam, you'll end up bankrup before i do at this rate, did you get the others?

Bionicle 17-Apr-2005 07:14

The top bid on this is already over 80 quid.

I asked the guy to send me a better picture, its still not in clear focus but it sure is not the bike that should be in the box.

[Edited on 17-4-2005 by Bionicle]

adam 17-Apr-2005 09:25

is this a Bayliss test bike? i have bid on this but think will stop as i am unsure it is worth that much.

deej 17-Apr-2005 22:32

i'd guess at it being a foggy test bike if its a 2000 model, didnt know he rode a black one or even minichamps making one mind you but it cant have been bayliss as he wasnt world champ back then

£160 in the end, crazy money for a bike thats completely misadvertised

and yes im sober tonight unlike my last post on this thread

[Edited on 17-4-2005 by deej]

Jasper 17-Apr-2005 22:37

I'll let you know exactly what bike it is when it arrives at my house!Misadvertised-maybe?Overpriced?depends on what you are after. If it's either a Bayliss or Foggy 2000 it's cheap!;)

adam 17-Apr-2005 22:40

well done mate, get in there. I have bids on other bike so had to drop out on this one, worried me a little not knowing what it was. cant wait to find out though. you could possibly have a very rare bike coming.

deej 17-Apr-2005 22:40

ah the mysterious top bidder

i'll be very interested in what bike it is as im sure you will be

Jasper 17-Apr-2005 22:45

Thing is,the only bike i REALLY want to get my hands on is a Bayliss 2000.So,i'll proberbly end up moving it on in the long run anyway,to finance the Bayliss if one ever comes up.Same as the Bostrom 2000,that will go as well.

Twinfan 17-Apr-2005 22:56

I reckon you've got a Foggy test bike in a Hodgson box. It's a 2000 Infostrada with carbon cans (not titanium) so that's my best guess. Maybe it's a demo that never made production? If so it'll be a nice one to have!

Jasper 17-Apr-2005 22:59

I reckon it's a Foggy too.You can just work out the Italian flsg/st georges cross on the end of the screen.

Twinfan 17-Apr-2005 23:02

It's the 2000 paintjob too, not the 1999, but it has the carbon cans of '99. Must be a test bike, or prototype of some kind? Can you post some decent pictures up when you get it and work out what it is???? :)

Jasper 17-Apr-2005 23:04

No problem.

Twinfan 17-Apr-2005 23:08

Cheers! :D

deej 18-Apr-2005 00:30

fair play to you jasper

which bayliss model is it you want so bad

im glad you could all see the little details as i couldnt

Twinfan 18-Apr-2005 09:32

The Bayliss 2000 is his Infostrada bike - the one he took off Foggy...

Jasper 18-Apr-2005 19:48

Deej,

I'm after Bayliss 2000 as Twin fan said. So,if you see one-let me know!!

deej 18-Apr-2005 20:30

i dont think they released a 2000 model of bayliss, i had a look at a old minichamps catalogue and the 01 model was the first bayliss bike

remember 5 years ago was when they first bought out the 99/00 foggy reps, it took them until the end of 2001 before they started producing more

i may be wrong but i dont think so

chicken 18-Apr-2005 20:43

Maybe a silly question but I've got one of these (not a signed one though)

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...sPageName=WDVW

My question is, can the fairing panels come off? There's obviously lots of detail underneath the side panels that I'm interested in seeing but I don't want to break it.

Twinfan 18-Apr-2005 20:51

You're wrong Deej:

MODEL NUMBER 122001221
DUCATI 996 2000 BAYLISS, TROY

Jasper 18-Apr-2005 20:51

Yes,the panels come off.

adam 18-Apr-2005 20:55

where can i get one of these catalogues?

chicken 18-Apr-2005 20:59

thanks Jasper - is it just a case of yanking them off or is there a trick to it?
