Curry

How long will it keep in the fridge?

Is a week and a half pushing it?

It's been in a plastic container. :puzzled::puzzled::puzzled:

I've been advised to sling it and order another one. Just don't want to waste money if it's perfectly edible.

TP 15-Apr-2005 20:58

IMO yes.

But, it's a good way to build up your immune system ;)

jobr 15-Apr-2005 21:16

I would throw it after three days max in the fridge.

HellsBells 15-Apr-2005 21:38

I'd sling it too... sorry..

Go on and get yourself a fresh one .. you know you want to..

Glyn 15-Apr-2005 21:49

nuke it in the mike

rcgbob44 15-Apr-2005 21:51

Eat it and save on the Exlax!

monstermob 998 15-Apr-2005 22:00

week and a half old curry ---nectar to impoverished legal student:lol::lol:

offer some to yer dog if he turns hes nose up then bin it:lol::lol:

cook it well, it will taste a lot better than first time round- probably been in the restarant fridge for a fortnight b4 it was delivered to you!!!!

TP 15-Apr-2005 22:02

You could always put it between some bread and have a salmonella sanga!

hooley 15-Apr-2005 22:38

'Trust me I'm a Doctor' (honest) - bin it

Even at 6 degrees (most fridges) bacterial growth after 1 week is enough.
Put it this way - would you drink 10 day old milk?

I think I know what i'm talking about - I run a company specialising in the manufature and use of bacteria and fungi (also streptomycetes) for use in agriculture...

...but then again I do like a curry, and after a few pint of 'wife-beater' I would probably eat it now and regret it later.

Jas

And before anyone says anything - I'm nothing like the guy in the 'Yakult' advert.....

swannymere 15-Apr-2005 23:08

:devil:You eat yours first,if you live, leave a post. Then i might tackle the chinese in the bottom of my fridge!

Redruth 15-Apr-2005 23:39

Thanks for all the advice. Cooked the old one but was strongly advised not to eat it. Was even ordered to wash the dish I'd cooked it in. Houswifery gone MAD.

Ordered a fresh one. Delishhhhh. Have half left over so am putting it in the fridge till I'm hungry again.

:D:D:D

dave w 15-Apr-2005 23:53

But hopefully not in 10 days time !:barfy:

Loz 16-Apr-2005 00:01

Ruth, is it OK if I bring my own sandwiches for the Dony Park trip? ;)

I had a Shepherd Pie once that was only two days old and it nearly killed me. Maybe curry is different. :puzzled:

Glyn 16-Apr-2005 00:46

skidlids 16-Apr-2005 00:54

Binned it, Kev. Unconvinced but I'd sought advice from a 'told you so' merchant so would never have heard the end of it if I'd gone ahead and dished it up. But I have to say, it looked perfectly ok to me. ;):)

I can assure you after a bit of Gamma irradiation it would have been germ free.
Works on all the medical stuff we process

Kev, wasn't it gamma rays that created the incredible Hulk :P

skidlids 16-Apr-2005 14:08

You volunteering to try Jon

Jon 16-Apr-2005 15:41

Nah Kev, but if you try it on a cheap curry first and it grows ten times bigger. We can then sell it on with a profit:devil:

Dear Ruthie certainly isn't cheap!!! Just don't make her ANGRY! ;)

hooley 16-Apr-2005 21:17

Just re-read my post...

Didn't want to sound too heavy and like a doom-monger, but I had VERY bad case of campilobacter (like salmonella, and a killer of many OAP's) last year and lost 2 stone in 2 weeks (haven't really got 2 stone to lose) - couldn't eat for 3 weeks, hospitalised and couldn't even keep liquids in - NOT GOOD.

Bit paranoid about about it now, I seem to throw away as much as I eat - starting to get expensive

A now slimmer Jas.

skidlids 16-Apr-2005 22:38

and thats why one of the few places you get to eat irradiated food in this country is hospitals.

kwikbitch 16-Apr-2005 23:07
