Mallory Park BSB Decided to go to Mallory Park next sunday for BSB. Never been before so would be interested on any advice on where the best viewing points are etc. Thanks |
|
Mallory is pretty good from a spectator viewpoint. You can see a lot of the track from quite a few vantage points. Must admit - the hairpin is one of my favourite spots. I always find it hard to believe that the racers will make it round at the speed they turn in (some don't of course) |
Yep, I would agree with watching from the entry side of the hairpin. Good spot with a lot of action going on. You can also see quite a lot of the circuit from there |
Bus stop the bus stop. You can almost touch em:sing: |
with-out a shadow its the edwinas, but the out field! you see the boys gassing out gerards, going for the line into edwinas with, out -breaking,passing.then gassing out the dunlop esses aiming for shaws corner. |
Plenty of choices. Dibs will give you a call when we are there and this time meet up! |
the best place to view has to be between the hairpin and the bus stop ! you can see them fly up the hill an d round the hairpin and be up close at the bus stop ! get into the paddock aswell , shake hands with haslam , cant get any closer than that ! :o |
ozz the track is small so you can walk to various points through the day. Be interesting to see if those Hondas are too big for the place, - could be just right for a Ducati?.............or a Kawasaki......or a Suzuki...... Supersport race will also be good. |
Great to see you Dibble. Shame my phone died and couldn't meet up with Guido. Cracking racing. Will definitely be going back there cos the circuit was brilliant. Sadly found the best place only for the last race - just after Edwinas so you see virually the whole circuit. |
Ozz You must have been right by us then and probably saw Guido lurking on the other side taking pictures. |
If I had known I would have said hello! Next time maybe - although don't know when I will be there again! Only going to Silverstone and Brands the rest of the season. I knew Guy was on the other side - when I was with Dibble he gave him a call. |
did anyone have any DSC clothing on ? I was just sat near the entrance of edwina's. Saw quite a few ducati shirts, but wasnt sure if anyone was DSC. |
I was the one with the bright red face! |
I had red DSC tshirt, Renegade Ducati red cap and black DSC fleece (not that I was wearing it much!). I was at entrance to Edwinas for BSB race 1 with Dibble about 30 foot behind marshalls hut. |
Im also suffering from a bright red face today and also white stripes where the oakleys where most of the day. Was painful taking the helmet off once got at home lastnight. That wind was deceptive yesterday, kept you cool whiile the sun scorched. My face = |
i dont get it though... i was stood next to him all day and not a tint to my skin where as he is glowing like fire engine :P |
JPM, Lily .... muppets ... lol I was right behind the Marshalls box on the entrance to Edwinas all day with a couple of mates as well as Jon, V2Pete, Pedro, Ozz and Moto748 .... I was there all day .. can't believe you missed us ..... Ozz did have his bright red DSC T Shirt on ..... Dibs |
Dibs Probably the only bit of the circuit we didn't go to. covered most of the rest of the spectating points at some point, but just couldn't be bothered going that far!! |
For those travelling by motorcycle... I'd like to complain about the complete lack of catering facilities heading south.:o I had it in mind to stop on the way home at the Little Chef just north of Moreton-in-the-March. However, a road-closure accident kept a bunch of us cooling our heels for half an hour or so 6 or 7 miles north of there. I hadn't got enough fuel for a detour, so I sat tight. Was really looking forward to that feed. Got there and it was shut! I *always* stop there on the way back from Donington or wherever. So, sod it, I thought, I'll press on to the one at Stow. Damn me, that was shut too! And that's a real surprise, cos it's not in the middle of nowhere like the other one. I knew I shouldn't have refused Dibble's offer of dough-nuts! :lol Good day out. |
I can't see for the life of me how you missed dibble:o He's so loud, its a miracle the couldn't hear him at the bus stop:lol::lol: |
I had my DSC shirt on.... At one point I was stood about 15 yards from one of the TV cameras (on the exit of the Bus stop before Devils Elbow) so those of you with Sky Sports keep an eye out 4 me on the TV coverage (Black T and black Furygan leathers... the camera would have been looking straight at me when it followed the bikes out of the bus stop) Am in the process of downloading the pics from the laptop so will put a few up once I've got them edited/watermarked etc. Gc [Edited on 25-4-2005 by Guido] |
Guy did you manage to get one of bke 77 in the supersport race:) |
Several Jon, Will let you know when they're off the camera/laptop. |
Thanks Guy:bouncy: |

Aha - that would have put you about 5 miles from me! Should have dropped by for coffee and donuts here! FYI - All the Little Chefs that aren't attached to a Travel Lodge have been shut down permanantly. RIP :o |
