New minichamp thread for baylissboy

there you go mate, your computer can have a rest now, I bet you are sweating over the Hodgson, i hope it doesnt go up too much or i will pull the plug on my one from Mr S.

Mr_S 22-Apr-2005 19:48

Must say I'm surprised at the price already!

Last few hours is where it'll all change again I guess..

adam 22-Apr-2005 19:51

yep thats when people go into bidding frenzy.

Twinfan 23-Apr-2005 01:32

Unless they reckon it's hit its peak already...

deej 23-Apr-2005 01:34

nope theres 3 of you on here who quite blatantly want 1 so it will go up and up

deej 23-Apr-2005 01:43

have a look at the feedback of thewheeliekid1000 on his previous items he has bought 3 of the bayliss 2000 models in the past month alone, all from nbentley16. could be worth keeping a eye out as they could be coming up on ebay again soon.

adam 23-Apr-2005 09:13

i wont be bidding for the ebay one, letting BB go for that one.

Thanks mate!

I must admit i put in a very high bid on it just to make sure i got it,i didn't think it would reach £200 so quickly! To be honest,if it goes much higher i'll lose it!!:sniff:

I think if another Corser or Bostrom came up i'd bid up to what it took to get it!! If i get the Hodgson 2000,those two would be the only ones i'd need to complete the collection(of releases to date)!!

Thanks for the new thread too!! It was taking ages to get on the old one!!

This may be a really stupid question, but what happens if they do another run of the Corser or Bostrum bikes?

They've just done another run of '99 Foggy bikes. Are the latest foggy bikes different in any way?

Is there a difinitive list of the models released with the numbers that were produced?

Twinfan 23-Apr-2005 16:57

If they re-release the early bikes it'll bomb the prices. I reckon they'll still be worth a little bit more as they're the original run, but the prices will collapse.

I've never seen a list of the production numbers, but all the models produced and code numbers etc are on line at www.minichamps.de.

mogwai 23-Apr-2005 17:17

Just kicked off my collection today, these two turned up this morning, very pleased with them, very detailed. Not minichamps though, they are made by 'Newray' and are 1:12...

baylissboy 23-Apr-2005 17:48

Twinfan's right,if they do re-release the early ones then the prices would crash!
Luckily i've only really paid big money for the Hodgson 2000(if i win it)!! I've bought all my other models for RRP or less, along the way!
There's no sign of Minichamps doing this though,so i don't think i'll be a problem,hope not anyway!
Still on the look out for the Bostrom & Corser models,no luck yet,but to be honest,i'll need alittle time to get over paying £200 for the Hodgson bike!!

Twinfan 23-Apr-2005 19:33

The quality of those NewRay models looks OK, not up to Minichamps though. How much are they?

mogwai 23-Apr-2005 19:55

Paid £7.50 for the desmosedici and £22.00 for the fila, off fleabay...:D

deej 23-Apr-2005 20:09

i doubt they will re release corser or bayliss as they werent that a big a name back then unlike the foggy which is the last title bike he rode.

think i'll be keeping a eye on ebay for a while to see how high these bikes are going for now, £510 for a corser is crazy

bb what collection is it you have, all the wsb ducatis or all the ducatis released, just me being nosy now ???

deej 23-Apr-2005 20:34

bad news guys or good news depending on which way you look at it but according to the minichamps website theres a 99 corser out in june 05

keep your cash in your pockets

adam 23-Apr-2005 20:59

that is bad news, i like the fact some of these models are rare. Whats next another run of Bostroms/Bayliss/Hodgsons?

deej 23-Apr-2005 21:02

yeah i like the fact i ahve the full set of 2000 motogp bikes, they were the first set along with the ducati team, but why buy a corser when you can have a foogy, if i'd known then what i know now it'd be a different story

think i'd better get myself a 2002 hodgy to complete his full line up so far too

deej 23-Apr-2005 21:39

i see theres a reynolds wsbk 47 on ebay for 129.99 buy it now price, good or nooo

adam 23-Apr-2005 21:44

its got broken bits though, worth paying just a bit more for a perfect one.
Although depends how well they have been fixed.

deej 23-Apr-2005 21:47

yeah i saw that, i wouldnt pay it as it ahs no relevance to my collections

wahta re you collecting adam, all of them by any chance ???

The Corser 1999 that minichamps are releasing this year is the 1:6 scale, not the 1:12 ;)

It's a touch more than I paid for mine, but mine is mint and undamaged (as far as I can see). I wouldn't worry to much about the damage if it was nearer £100...

Quote:

what a re you collecting adam, all of them by any chance ???

He's after most things, yes  He's got all the Rossi bikes plus quite a few other odds and sods...

adam 23-Apr-2005 23:31

I will eventually get the Bayliss/Bostrom/Corser 1999 and hodgson 2000.
just have to wait for them to pop up.

Katoh's i like, so they are on the list. i will just plod on through the range and see whats what. but I will try and get the rarer ones first before the prices go up even higher.

deej 23-Apr-2005 23:42

im surprised at the kato 03 model still being £80, i know he wasnt everyones first choice but he was going to be rossi's main rival that year and they sold out as soon as they were released

good luck in getting the 3 rare ones, i cant afford to join in with you on that competition but think i may start getting some of the 01 models just in case they start going up in price even though i doubt they will

the 3 you are after are only rare becuase nobody wanted them at the time so they didnt produce so many of them

Twinfan 23-Apr-2005 23:48

The Katoh RCV. I wonder who has one of those... ;)

deej 24-Apr-2005 00:14

mmmm i wonder

the fortuna nsr thats on ebay looks better, the telefonica rep looks crap

Twinfan 24-Apr-2005 10:40

Not keen on the Fortuna bike but look at the price! There's another at £199 in Germany.

baylissboy 24-Apr-2005 12:57

deej,i'm collecting all the Ducati 996 shape race bikes, that's BSB & WSB!!

When they stop releasing them,i'll move to Ducati 999 race bikes & Ducati Moto GP,if i'm not broke or divorced!!

adam 24-Apr-2005 17:31

bb, how many do you have now? might be worth getting Hodgsons and Toselands 999 winners now, you will have to order Toselands, coming out this year. It will be his only winner the way he is going.

Twinfan 24-Apr-2005 17:50

Quote:

Too true!!!

I'll be getting one of those as the missus loves the Fila 999.

adam 24-Apr-2005 18:03

yeh i have one on order, I have the Hodgson 2003 bike, cant stand him and dont like the 999 but it is a winner. saying that the model looks better than the real thing, it looks very nice on the shelves with the other bikes.
looking forward to getting the reynolds 2000. should be about 10 days.

Twinfan 24-Apr-2005 19:24

Just got a Hodgson 2000 - woohoo! Pick it up tomorrow! Got outbid on eBay for one in the US, so I'm getting a localish one in the UK. Reasonable price too! Collection will be complete!

I've got to send my 2003 Shakey Byrne back though because it doesn't stand up properly on the paddock stand. Hopefully the shop I bought it from has another one in stock. Should have them all on display by the middle of the week.

:D

adam 24-Apr-2005 19:28

Well done matey, how much did you pay? where did you get it?
i bet Baylissboy is sweating now, not long to go.

Twinfan 24-Apr-2005 20:16

Can't say where I got it just yet, but I'll spill the beans after I've got it. I'm paying £160. What do you reckon - fair price?

adam 24-Apr-2005 20:43

nop way too much. lol. cant say, very secretive hey. £160 sounds good, that is what i would like to pay for one.

Twinfan 24-Apr-2005 21:20

That's what I thought. I set myself a limit of £150, but for the sake of a tenner I had to go for it!

Twinfan 24-Apr-2005 21:47

Congratulations Baylissboy - you got the Hodgy for £200 :)

You getting that one off Mr_S then Adam?

deej 24-Apr-2005 22:27

fair play boys, i wouldnt go any higher than 200 notes for a hodgy one and im a fan of his. its worth having for ghe complete bsb title set mind you

at least the motogp set shoudl be easier to collect, what with only 4 bikes last year and 3 this year, £120 tops lovely jubbly !!!!!!!!!!!!

adam 24-Apr-2005 22:36

I hope Mr S's comes with the box? or else I will be on the hunt again.
Well done bb.

baylissboy 24-Apr-2005 23:20

Thanks boys, not much happened at the end, quite glad really as my bid was only £2 higher than the price i finally won it for!!

Now on to the Corser 99 & Bostrom 2000!! That will complete the collection(releases to date)!!

I'm going to collect any other 998's as they come out, don't want to make the same mistake again!!

Going to make a start on 999 race bikes & Moto GP too!!
