Damn!!! Sorry for the rant guys, but i'm mad!!! Especially with myself, since i knew this was going to happen sooner or later. It goes like this....... in this last years i've always had 2 or 3 bikes, being one of them a track bike. In the end of 2003 i sold my R6 (my track bike at the time) thinking i would be happy with "only" 2 bikes and that i would use one of my street bikes on the track for 2004. Well.......... as i went for the first race of the 2004 season just to watch and see my friends there, i knew i would have to get another track bike. So, i got a new CBR 600RR and all the mods to turn her into a track bike. But i only did one race with her and sold it to get the MV. :frog: I had a big crash and the MV is a salvage now :( (long story short..... the accident was not my fault but i'll have to go to court to claim what's mine, so it will take a long time....). Then i got the 999R, but it's my only bike now (well i have the MV, but i won't touch it until i know what's going to happen with the insurance company / court file). This last weekends i went to the races here and in the last one we had a track day..... needless to say that the little  called racing striked again and now i NEED a track bike again. And what's worse..... i want a Ducati track bike (something i always tell people not to get, because it's too expensive, and i always advice getting a 600cc jap for the track) I would LOVE to take the 999R to the track (where it belong really), but i'm too chicken **** to risk crashing her :rodent: Rant over... :burn: |
I have a 748r if you want it as a track bike :D :D |

I just KNEW you were going to say that :D But it had crossed my mind............... :sing: |

You said it mate - it's where it belongs! Get some race bodywork and have a giggle. Cheers! Scott |
 Lily never misses her cue :D But, I think a 748R would be a very good track bike. Of course if you bought Lily's the first thing you'd need to do is finish painting it - it's only got the yellow undercoat you see. :frog: |
Oh no - he's thinking about buying another bike! Run for your lives!!:D |

I know :( |

As far as I know, my friend of mine still has his CBR6RR trackday bike up for sale. Let me know if you're interested & I'll call him to confirm. He's looking for £5k. |
hmm...very nice but you could have a 748r for almost the same price.... :P |
look... you have to give me marks for effort here. its a stunning bike and i love it, but i sadly have to sell it so I have to at least make an effort....:P |

iF HE WANTS TO P/X IT FOR MY 749 I COULD BE INTERESTED!:D |

Oi! Behave! Just get your suspension sorted, and it will turn into your dream bike! |

Rev.....I have to agree with TP here - I'd keep the 749, but if you're serious, let me know a bit more about your bike & I'll call him. |
Wow, thanks for the offers but.... easy guys. I'm just ranting. I can't really think about getting another bike now (i can't??), i still have an MV in the garage that i can't ride and that don't know what to do with her for the time being. If everything goes well, my plan is to get another MV and keep the salvage one as a track bike, but i don't know for how long i can handle this :D |
Ducnow... what do you think I used for trackdays? |

I hear you.... and i know you ended up crashing on the streets and low speed, but with the luck i'm having lately i just don't want to risk it. BTW have you got your track fairings already? |
Still using the "battlescarred" Renegade ones at present (luckily when the off happened all of the carbon road kit was off the bike apart from the seat unit). T/day seat unit arrived yesterday ready for paint, and have ordered nosecone/fairing/bellypan etc which will be here mid May. Way I look at it now is I am going to put the t/day seat on this weekend, get the original repainted and won't be going back on the bike. The tank has a dent, but I have a replacement (thanks skids) which has since been painted so looks like new (again not going back on the bike) so I'll have a full road kit in A1 condition in a few weeks. |

its a 2003, new all round 2005 gloss black bodywork (never dropped, im just a tart!),ask TP, he's seen it.6000 miles.....just see if he is interested to start with? Only reason im considering it is a possibilty to return to racing and i cant afford both.Just invested a fortune in turning into one of the best looking 749's out there too:sniff: |

And what td kit did you end up ordering? |

I must say it does look very nice. I like the new shape bikes in black, sort of. But if you're going racing again I can understand. |
Gone for the QBCARBON kit for the front half, pre-preg black, the seat unit has come from race products, plain gel coat, problem you might find is that most of the seat units I have seen so far are RS copies, which don't fit (easily) to the road bike, you need to hack quite a bit of the seat unit down, and make several brackets to mount to the subframe, then to the seat..... you get the picture |
Im doing cadwell on Monday, and iv got a small fortune in the bike, if it rains im going out on me supermoto. just do it and worry about it later :frog: |

Good luck then :D It's like i said......... with the luck i'm having lately i just don't want to risk it. |
