Swing arm colours

I've got meself a buckshee swing arm, it has a datatag mark that has been stamped on (which isn't mine).

Now, there is a few things I was thinking of doing with it.
1. Polish it
2. Powdercoat it black
3. Anodise it gold

What do you guys recon would look better?

JPM 27-Apr-2005 17:35

Me.... powder coat black

dave996 27-Apr-2005 17:44

You know my wheels are blue:o

Powdercoat BLACK

JPM 27-Apr-2005 17:48

dave996 27-Apr-2005 17:54

Just thought of that myself:rolleye:

That's not tacky in the slightest :rolleye:

Get a neon (blue obviously to match your wheels) bolted on the chain guard, or up between the pipes at the same time, give it the complete look

Mr_S 27-Apr-2005 18:34

Anodised black....

dave996 27-Apr-2005 18:38

If you're getting it anodised/powdercoated I take it you still need to strip it down or is it just as cheap to let whoever is doing it to do it?

And how much is this?

Carbon749 27-Apr-2005 18:55

If you go for the anodised finish have it polished first ... the finish coat looks deeper and has a shine to it that normal anodised finishes don't have.

Dave 996

I hope you`ve had the rear stand painted by now and I trust that you will shortly be having those wheels painted black as you were instructed to do on another thread!!!!:smug:

keefer 27-Apr-2005 22:34

powder its the only way.
anodising wont last on a swing arm

Mr_S 27-Apr-2005 23:30

Good point,

Still opt for black though...

andyb 28-Apr-2005 09:56

While your doing it, why not get it lengthened a la corse arm??

Still yellow, not got the hammerite out yet.
Still blue, AND STAYING BLUE:lol::lol::lol:

keefer 28-Apr-2005 12:16

difficult to say as I had some other stuff done at the same time.
I recon about £40 - £50 half on the powder other on the shot blast,
then you are going to need new bearings ?

sharpo 28-Apr-2005 20:01

Get it done as close to the origional finish as possible, thats what looks best, the Italians knew that when they did em.
Another thing the Romans did for us.

moto748 28-Apr-2005 21:20

That's a thing of beauty, that swinging-arm, keefer!

Money well spent.
