Cadwell Results Table A fantastic days racing in which consistancy paid off if you look at the attached table. Geof Spencer lived up to his pre race status by getting a clean sweep and so leads the series. Dave Riley lead the second race until falling at the hairpin which pushed him way down the table. The 2 DLS bikes showed great consistancy and again it paid off. Too many good rides to mention everyone, but I have to pay tribute to Mike Atack, only picked the Multistrada up on Wednesday before the weekend, got torpedoed in race 1 by and unlucky Domski who suffered a suspected broken wrist. Bent the bike back into shape-including the swing arm!-and went out in race 2 and finished it-respect is due. Also Dave Harris, every time I saw him he was working sorting out someone elses bike, and he still raced and finished both races-good on you mate. The only major problem which the first event seems to have thrown up-apart from the 620 versus 583 debate-is that the single disk bikes seem to be running out of brakes. Most people running single disks seemed to be spending lots of time changing fluid, pads, disks, calipers even trying to get the brakes to last the distance. I believe personally that this will only be a problem at Cadwell Woodland since you have 2 maximum braking area's close together with a very short lap and so not enough time for the brakes to cool down-time will tell if I'm right or not. Welcome to club racing boys-fun isn't it?? See you all at Castle Combe John Edited to remove the results spreadsheet - TP [Edited on 2-5-2005 by Webteam] |
Has the points system changed? Them there positions puts me one place higher than I should be, but with less points! |
I agree, can we see the points system listed please Monty? |
I got 5 points Monty not 4 - I finished 23rd and 24th. |
1st 35 points 2nd 30 points 3rd 27 points 4th 25 points 5th 23 points 6th 22 points 7th 21 points 8th 20 points 9th 19 points 10th 18 points 11th 17 points 12th 16 points 13th 15 points 14th 14 points 13th 13 points 14th 12 points 15th 11 points 16th 10 points 17th 9 points 18th 8 points 19th 7 points 20th 6 points 21st 5 points 22nd 4 points 23rd 3 points 24th 2 points 25th 1 point |
Ah, I see what's happened... study the scoring system in the regs and there's a mistake. Also, I didn't know Alan Knight was on the grid!!! |
yeah i need 1 more point too! could make all the difference at the end of season ( yeah right!) |
I had ant for 11th in race one? |
Summink aint rite !! I finished in the same spot both races and have different points for the 2??? Are the official results different from what I thought? Are these official standings or just an early indicator? Tim |
There's just been a small mistake, I think we should give Monty a bit of time to sort it out and we'll see what's happening. Alternatively, phillc has scanned the race results in on another thread and that combined with the scoring system, kindly posted by Lin, will make things clear for you. :D |
Poor Monty, he must be tired  13th/14th places are listed twice in the points system, which messes the whole lot up. I think it's safe to assume they'll need a rethink! [Edited on 2-5-2005 by NBs996] |
Fairy's muff, I think we're all a bit wasted after the weekend. it would be good to know where the official table will be held though. Perhaps on a locked thread in the DD section? Tim |

and your bike put in an amazing show C, but my point was it's not the bike that gets the points, it the rider, and Andy should be credited for what I think was ride of the day. A guy who's not swung a leg over a bike in about 3 years, on a relatively underpowered bike, and he gets 5th/6th. Give that man a pat on the back! |
cheers for that Nick:) Andy was really settling into it on Sunday, but said the bike would be well down the field if the track had had any longer straights in it, or if the usual circuit had been used at Cadwell. At least he has laid some things to rest with his track riding:) |
Oops..... .....Michael says apologies from the Race Committee - hours of proof-reading and none of us spotted the mistake in the regs :( As Monty is not on line, can the webteam delete his attachment and we'll come up with a revised championship points table ASAP. Sorry! |
lol! I wondered where all my points had gone, and why I was demoted to a 14th and 15th place finish! |
yes now your up to 11th in the second race is that right?;) |

Done. TP |
mines still Zero points no matter how its done :P |
OK folks - sorry about that - and sorry for the delay. I've attached the revised points and championship table. Webteam - please can you add the table to monty's post at the top as well, ta. [Edited on 3-5-2005 by mw] |

I've closed and stickied your other post Mike, hopefully this will be enough. All - Championship results will remain at the top of the Desmo Due forum in the sticky thread, please refer to it for all your placing needs :D Cheers, TP |
Can I have 71 points for breaking my arm? :saint: |
no, but i recon you would get a few 5.9's or 6's for artistic impression coming into the hairpin. ;) |

Did you ?????? So I may understand why you didn't take part in the second race... Or was there a problem with the bike? By the way if you broke your arm, I hope you've subscribed a policy from our friend Ken. You could have earnt £1000  |
:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:frog: |
The only way is up, baby! Even if I get a brace of DNF's it'll be better than the brace of DNS' |
