SNETTERTON DESMO DUE WEEKEND

I have already posted on the dsc events board but thought that I would also air this here.

The snetterton track day is in danger of being canceled due to poor numbers of bookings. For the racers out there It would be mad to do a practice and 5 sessions and then a half hour race but I and many others could do with more practice to gain circuit knowledge. It would make sense to share a booking and get more track time but not wear ourselves out

I will be booking and trying to persuade my brother to take a share of the time!

I can only echo Dave's comments above, we really do need more people to book for this day to ensure that it actually happens.

You can do a track day on a saturday, lie back and watch the DD boys doing their thing, all without having to take a day off work

You know it makes sense!

Unless you have an 800+ mile round trip :(

However, I've just filled the forms in tonight and they'll be in the post tomorrow!! :D

Now, lets see the BBQ budget!!!!

skidlids 04-May-2005 23:57

Is it really open to non DSC members, if that is the case I will fire off a couple of emails to some mates that I was talking to about it earlier but I told them they had to be club members, even then they were considering joining the DSC just to get the trackday.

TP 04-May-2005 23:58

Nice one Scott - see you there :D

Ok folks, I have made a couple of calls to try and gain some agreement to what is necessary to make these things happen.

In order to comply with VAT rules for the Club, events such as trackdays have to be open to members of the Club only and not the general public.

As such and to ensure that this event goes ahead we are going to be a little creative:

1) In the event that two riders wish to share a bike, as long as the 1st rider is a member of the Club and enters the bike, then the 2nd rider does not have to be a member.

2) In the event of them being friends of a member (Skidlids option) then the member must enter the bike on their behalf, listing them as riders.

Thus everyone is a member for a day by means of association. All riders will need to attend briefing, sign-on, etc; but they decide between themselves how much track time they do.

We very much want this event to happen but we need URGENTLY to get the numbers up to a finacially viable level, please get booking.

sorry, just so i can get this right.

if i have 2 firends that want to do it but are not members and not on ducati's. thay can do a full trackday each so long as i book them up under my membership but with them as riders?

ChrisBushell 05-May-2005 10:10

Too far away for me unfortunately...

If it's over a 2 hour drive it would mean a day out of the office which equals an unpaid day, sorry folks

Oh come on, where's your club spirit! You get to do the track day, watch the DD race, watch a 24 hour race, get involved in the social side of the club with a bbq and beers/banter on Sat night.

It'll be excellent!

Oulton isn't hosting a DD round!

I'm sorry but Chez Perrin is full with my family in full attendance. Sleep in a tent, or don't sleep much at all!! There will be racing all night.

You know it makes sense! ;)

Okay, for the terminally thick amongst us (me!).............

When?..........is it a 1/2 day?........how much?..........is it suitable for a novice?...........any more info?

Cheers
Jas

TP 05-May-2005 22:21

June 25th, it's a half day, I think 4 sessions but I'm not sure. It is VERY novice friendly. I did my first ever track day with the DSC last September and couldn't have asked for more.

Not sure of price, there is a thread in the Track Days forum so go and check that out.

It's also combined with the Desmo Due race which is a 30 minute race. And after that the KRC club are having their inaugural 24 hour race which will be great as well. It's a social even for the DSC as well and there will be a bbq and beers etc - what more can you want?

:D :D

From Lizzie's post in the Trackdays forum - it's stickied at the top

The trackday will comprise 5 x 20-minute sessions with 2 groups (novice/inter and inter/fast). It will be run on Saturday 25 June with track time starting at about 10.30 and finishing at about 2.00. The cost is yet to be finalised but expected to be about £90 - edited - only £70 - what a bargain!

£70 is not bad for 5 sessions - bargain! And then all the racing afterwards!

hooley 05-May-2005 22:59

TP - Cheers.

No worries.

Well done, we need more people to commit to make sure it goes ahead!

Sent my cheque off today :D

Rattler 11-May-2005 01:49

My cheque should already be in.

Is the timed DD practice before or after the trackday?

Tim:frog:

antonye 11-May-2005 10:48

It should be before Tim.

ChrisBushell 11-May-2005 16:18

Boys & Girls,

This event is still some way short of the numbers that we need to ensure that it goes ahead. Please get your paperwork into Lizzie ASAP

Ian Harris 11-May-2005 16:54

Apologies for being terminally dense, but under the new "guest" rules for the Snetterton track attack, if a non-club member rides, the cost is still £70 isn't it? I've just remembered a Midlands dwelling mate with a Fazer, and it would be rude not to invite him!

ChrisBushell 11-May-2005 17:38

As long as the member books him on then that is ok, he is your guest for the day.

Chris
