Wireless network help
 

I am looking at putting a wireless network into my new pc.I was looking at Netgear,but there is a HUGE conflict between Netgears pci card and AMD cpu's.I am looking now at Belkin or 3com,but am somewhat at sea!I am on broadband.Any advice on modem/routers and pci cards would be most appreciated.:puzzled:

I've a Belkin system at home, but, unlike me, had far 2 much beer tonight, u2u me waspie (jasper is a wasp round 'ere) ya number, and i'll call u over the weekend. that's if u want me 2!

I use D-Link and never had any problems http://www.dlink.com/

D-Link's good gear, Linksys is good too, if a little "fisher price" in appearance to my eye.

Which model modem/router do you have?

I use a Vigor Draytek which has served me well for two years. I was lucky enough to 'find' a Cisco wireless card lying around at work for my old laptop but my new one has one built into it.

My PC is just cabled into the 4 port switch part of the router the same as any hub.

Pretty much any wireless adaptor you can get your hands on will work, you just need to make sure you have the appropriate drivers.

I've set one or two of these up so might be able to help if you're struggling.

I will check with the post office in the morning on the package, as to which i use, i run 4 desk top PC with a D-Link D1-604 Ethernet Broadband Router and three laptops link up with D-Link Airplus 2.4 GHz Wireless Access Point

I can recommend the Vigor, mine is a 2200We but I'd go for a later model that supports Stateful Packet Inspection and 54MB wireless.
