Hmm, well if it is the push rod or its seals, its easy enough to change the two o rings just in case. Its more likely to be the seal behind the basket. Perhaps you nipped the lip of the new seal when you put it in?

The oil seal behind my clutch went as well. It didnt affect the working of the clutch but it sure looked pretty horrible. It was more like a heavy residue that a leak. It would only really do it when I had been out on a very long ride, say 200 miles.

I think that the actual seal costs about 15 to 20 quid. Im having my bike done now at a dealer. With other things.

;)

Yep
Big oil seal at back of Clutch drum.
There is no other way of getting oil in there I dont think, other than the pushrod.
Nelly is in Italy at Monza so wont be able to reply but give him a calll on tuesday for his advice.
I have heard of a few that have gone and I will be replacing mine on the SP when I bolt it back together just to make sure.

its coming through the push rod.:(:(:puzzled::puzzled: all seals i replaced intact. o rings okay and small one at emd off rod okay. got me puzeled.

Hmmm, i wonder if the bearing has seized at some stage and the pushrod has wobbled about and made the holes in the crank cases oval? Might be worth trying a new push rod incase its slightly under sized. Dunno really, odd one.

Is it definitely engine oil or poss clutch fluid?

The seals on the pushrod could be allowing oil to pass but clutch fluid will run along it too if the seal has gone in the slave cylinder?
