Bad news... I\'ll be here until June 6th

Just spent 2 hours in hospital, at the fracture clinic.

I was sat there all proud coz I took my cast off on Sunday night, and although my arm is a bit sore, it actually felt much better out of the cast... So I'm expecting the Consultant to say, "Well Mr Cann, if it feels better, then no need to put another dirty great cast on - and can I have your autograph for the kids"

He didn't say that though

Instead he said "Just had a look at your x-ray, what a super crack you have in your arm! I think we should put it in a cast for another 3 weeks"

Bugger :(

3 weeks?? :o

It'll be fine in another 10 days I reckon. Doctors eh? What do they know :lol:

At least this new cast is much better than the other thing. It's a kind of soft cast which I can wear in the shower :o and very light weight.

So, my friends ;) you have me as a permanant fixture I'm afraid, right up until Castle Combe on 4th June :P:P:P

I'll be at CC on Wednesday though, and maybe riding :o

I apologise now for the torture I'm bound to inflict on you all :D

TP 11-May-2005 19:28

If I was you I wouldn't ride with a cast on.

But hey, you're not going to do what I say anyway so knock yourself out.

TP 11-May-2005 19:29

And I've just realised you'll be racing two days before you're scheduled to have the cast off ...

Hrmmm .... it's your body and your risk I guess!

Exactly, 48 hours will make no difference.

Seriously, the arm is mending super quick... Just like I was :P

domski 11-May-2005 21:19

I have a list, but I'll add you to it.

I'm off to Louigi's this weekend, so if I can't ride, then I'll go through the people who I have listed in order etc etc blah blah.

Wish I had auctioned it now :(

...I'm open to bribes

Wotcha,

great tip from the race paddock this...

Mr Brian simpson, based in ipswich, you'll never miss a race again.

this guy is very well known in the race paddock as a mega race doc. he uses a pressure chamber and lasers to fix broken bones in mega speedy time.

when you go to the waiting room the walls are covered in photos and letters of thanks from road racers, speedway, moto x, even boxers!

you may have seen him in MCN last year about fixing Hodgsons bones!

I seem to break a bone or two every year club racing and last time i was there it cost about £300 (so not cheap) but after treatment i raced brands hatch 3 weeks from the break (i broke both bones in my forearm and had both plated)

I've used him 3 times now, 2 wrists and a collar bone.

the sooner you get there after the break the better it works.

well worth a call 01473 215905 he will explain all, the medical stuff is a bit above my understanding, but it works! and keeps the grid full!!!

good luck.

Thanks for the reccomendation and the warning about getting near you on a race track

If I didn't live 220 miles from Ipswich and had £300 spare, I'd be knocking Brian's door down.

Cheers ;)

thanks dom

Tell ya wot - I've got a roll of gaffer tape and a couple of metal bars that'll see ya right!!

Just calll me on 0800-BAD-MEND and you'll be sorted!!! :)

phil_h 11-May-2005 23:08

Actually, Dom, I'll miss your posts when I'm on hols next week :sniff:
They've been MUCH more interesting than work ;)

AK 11-May-2005 23:15

Dom, keep scoffing Comfrey - great for knitting bones together quickly.

We need to see you out at CC - even if its just to star in the crashers of the year video (we didnt have it running where you tiped out at Cadwell):lol:

Seriously, it will help - just look on the internerd, or go to a herbalist, its done me good in the past - and also a couple of our nags that i used to race

C

Sorry to hear that Dom. :( Don't worry I'm sure it'll be great fun just pootling around at the back watching the race! I spoke to Rich today and he said he'd given up on squeezing more power from the 675 in order to focus on getting some billet stabilisers made up....

I'm actually sure you'll not only be out there getting the track sorted next Wednesday, but also beating all of us to the line on the day... Just don't bloody fall off!

domski 11-May-2005 23:47

Thanks for all the kind words... I think

I'll be at CC next wednesday, but only as a spectator now.

But, I'll defo be racing on the 4th.

Not decided where to fall off as yet, it all depends how far down the field I am near the end of the race

I'll be sure to give you a clear hand gesture this time :P

:lol::lol::lol:
