Fantasy Desmo Due?

FANTASY DD 2005

OK, here's my idea...

You get £100,000 to buy 3 riders (thats an imaginary £100,000)

1 x 620 rider
1 x 675 rider
1 x 583 rider

I will provide the lists and tables.

You will accumulate the same points for each rider, as they score at each remaining DD round (9 races).

There are no prizes - It's just for fun (unless anyone is daft enough to offer a prize)

You can only have one team.

What do you think? Ideas please.

I've got a basic list, with prices, but will seek clarification before issuing the shopping list.

There will be a one week period (to be decided) when mid-season changes can be made, otherwise you're stuck with your 3 riders - Thanks TP

Tonio600 13-May-2005 13:40

I don't understand.

Sorry :D

domski 13-May-2005 13:45

Basically Tonio, it's like a game.

You pick Geoff Spencer £50,000, Phil Huntley £40,000 and Domski £0.02

That is then your team for the year.

If at Castle Combe, Geoff scores 70 points, Phil scores 40 points and Domski scores NIL points...

Then Tonio's fantasy team is on 110 points (70+40+0).

...and so it goes on through the year.

Just for fun thats all.

I did think about that, but if 200 people want to play, I'd never have time to work!!

Think maybe better to pick 3 and stick with them?????

:)

domski 13-May-2005 13:48

7th June is my date with destiny

TP 13-May-2005 13:52

Have a mid-season transfer window for about a week.

Everyone gets to change and then you don't have as much admin to do.

domski 13-May-2005 13:59

Good idea

Here's a very quick list...

FIRST DRAFT PRICELIST

I'll need help with this too, coz I don't want to upset anyone :)

e.g. How much should Chicken be? I don't know everyone. Just went roughly on Cadders results.

In French I would have said "Enorme...":lol::lol::lol:

Very interresting game, but assuming I buy Domski, who will give me the money for all stuff he's going to destroy on the bike :puzzled::puzzled:

:D

JPM 13-May-2005 14:57

How exactly are prices being calculated?

Is this just for the rider or the bike? let's say a rider cannot make a round, but he has a sub who will ride his bike?

If it goes off the rider, then wouldn't it be a good idea for one to know who's going to make every round barring an act of god or mechanical failure thus maximising your possible points tally?

TP 13-May-2005 14:59

I think Dom has just looked at the results from Cadwell and priced accordingly - and then chucked himself up at the top ;)

Nothing too scientific. The only person I know who is going to miss a round is Dickie who won't be at Castle Combe.

domski 13-May-2005 15:05

Jesus lads, it was only for fun, no prizes :o

How about some useful feedback?

Who is too expensive, too cheap etc?

skidlids 13-May-2005 15:09

Several peeps are sharing bikes, like Chris woods and James Thompson so they should come as a pair or £30000 for the No. 10 bike so that it wouldn't matter which was on it.

Hope one can include ones self as rider/manager, so thats No.88 and No. 23 for me now need to find a £20 rider or less on a 674.

Wasn't having a pop mate, I know it's a giggle. It would have to be a giggle to put yourself up there ;)

To be honest I think you've had a fair stab at it, it's pretty accurate.

domski 13-May-2005 15:11

Someone who has faith in me... or knows something I don't

Thanks Kev :)

Stick our bike in Dom(#36) rather than the rider - prob better return for the money:cool: likewise as Skids says for other bikes that might be shared.

C
ps: why you got Mark down for lots - he hasnt ridden the bike yet:puzzled:

OK, will do.

Mark is a good rider, I think he's easy worthy of the price :)

domski 13-May-2005 15:16

Price update - BIKE #36 now £50,000 with Andy & Mark as riders :)

Price update - BIKE #10 now £30,000 with James & Chris as riders :)

domski 13-May-2005 15:22

Oh yeah, if this seems like a good idea to do, points will only start at Castle Combe

Cadwell results don't figure ;)

TP 13-May-2005 15:23

Based on the race results I'd swap Dave Harris and Mike Winter around, and include Dickie in the £20k group.

Sorry Dave, not picking on you!

Well its a bit unfair otherwise isn't it, seeing as people would jump in on 200 points or something.

Makes no diff to me, whatever the masses want... I am your slave :P

TP 13-May-2005 15:35

Sorry Dom, I meant the £30k group. It's tough in there but looking at the two race results I'd have:

£30k
Tim Howard
Kev Ellis (based on laptimes - not results)
Antoine Josserand
Bike #10

£20k
Mike Winter
Richard Thirkettle
Dave Harris
Kev Palmer

What do you think?

fil2 13-May-2005 15:39

CLEARLY.........

TP 13-May-2005 15:41

I dunno mate, it's a bit difficult to do accurately.

I just looked at that particular group and checked the race results and laptimes for those in there that didn't finish. Based on that I think I've got a fairly accurate positioning system there.

But - it's only a game, doesn't matter really.

It's a bit risky though, I don't want to upset any of those riders!! :o

Please don't be mad at me, I'm just playing! :D
