ATTN: Castle Combe Track Day Regs!!!! Hi :D Well I've just spoken to the lady who runs the bike days. The noise limit is 105db and it was explained to me that the test is conducted at 1m from the exhaust at a 45 degree angle with the bike held at 3/4 maximum revs. I believe that this is exactly how Ian Leah's 620 was tested at Cadwell and he measured 87db - we should be ok. This is their main issue - obviously they are having problems with noise and their locals. I explained that we understood and we think it's fair, and that we've all signed their petition! If you haven't DO IT NOW!!! Search for a thread started by me. My second question was about meeting MOT regs. Initially she explained that they don't allow racebikes etc. I asked about track bikes that don't have mirrors, lights etc - would they pass? She said that it's ok as long as they pass the noise restrictions. She asked me if it was a racebike and I said yes GULP - thinking that I've just blown it. But she was cool. She doesn't want any sheds! She realises that there will be racebikes there for the day (not just us) and we may even get our own group. As long as we meet the noise restrictions and we behave, no riding like idiots etc, we'll be fine. We just show them a bit of respect and we're all Fonzi's So, relax ... and breathe .... :D |
good work tony..our own group sounds excellent....................... well done. Phil |
Yeh - go for our own group then we can race!!!! - oh bugga, not race, compete effectively!!!!! ;) |
Well we won't know if that's going to happen until we get there, and we would be lumped in with other racers. Who are likely to be fast :o It would be good though, might help to learn the track. Anyone got the MCN circuit guide? Does it have Castle Combe in it? I think I might buy it ... |
Well done mate, you make me breathe... Cheers, Tonio |

I'll hold him down, someone else can kick him lots. Or I can hold him upside down and shake him until the track guide falls out! Anyone? |

Is this of any use to you guys? http://www.trackdays.co.uk/Circuits/castle-combe.htm I think it's aimed more at cars but any help... Darren |
Am I wrong if I say CC seems easier than Cadwell? |

Try it again, I've tried it now from outside my network and it's downloading ok now.... |
Works now :D |
just done a 105db trackday on a 748 with 50mm termis staight though noise checks and no trouble on track a 748R with 45mm termis made 104db no probs either but a VTR SP2 got a warning whilst out on track |
Well, my DD bike measured 101.8db but we had a few failures. fil2 and Ali (I think) failed and had to fit db killers. Ali had to do more than that :D but I think he was trying to kill someone on a bigger bike! Tonio and Tim measured 105db and they were told they'd be watched. |
