Minichamps Bayliss-Have you seen this one?

Has anybody seen an Imola Bayliss like this before?Red border round the numbers, green stripes on nosecone and seat unit.I haven't,wondered if this was another unofficial "rare" one!!Any info would be appreciated.

baylissboy 19-May-2005 00:38

I've not seen one like that before!!No front mudguard either!!

KeefyB 19-May-2005 07:04

Looks like its the silver bike with the red bikes decal kit.:puzzled:
Front brake lever looks damaged/repaired.

Twinfan 19-May-2005 10:17

Looks like it's seen better days...

Twinfan 19-May-2005 10:23

Definitely a silver bike with the red decals and no mudguard. I agree, the right clip on looks like it's been repaired too.

Could be a rare one, or could be a repaired one (decals damaged???)

deej 19-May-2005 13:19

how do you boys notice such small details like the different colours

that to me is a homemade job as there was only 1 imloa rep surely ???

Twinfan 19-May-2005 14:27

There was. Either a cock up at the factory re. the decals, or someone has replaced the damaged originals with the wrong decals.

deej 19-May-2005 14:29

i wouldnt bid for it, how much is it up for ??

Jasper 19-May-2005 20:33

It's not "up" for anything. One of the bidders on the Foggy, sent me them and asked if i'd seen one like it before.I haven't seen a colour scheme on the race bike like that,so think this one is homemade.Maybe.To me it looks like theyve put the 2001 Infostrada decals onto an Imola, for some reason.

Twinfan 19-May-2005 22:39

Yep, definitely got the decals off the red 2001 bike on the silver 2001 Imola special.

Wylie1 25-May-2005 23:49

It looks like it's now made an appearence on ebay

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...sPageName=WDVW

Twinfan 25-May-2005 23:58

I thought he was on about Jasper too, but in Jasper's bid history I can't see any problems. Unless Jasper's removed them???

Jasper 26-May-2005 00:15

I have no idea what he's on about!!What's a shill bidder? If by that he means somebody that i've asked to bid on the auction,he's way off base-'cos i didn't!!Never felt the need to!If you look at the bid history,it's all above board!

Jasper 26-May-2005 00:26

I have e-mailed him reference his remarks,TOATLLY refuting them('cos it's blx!!) and asked him to remove or edit his auction.God,life is fun, isn't it!!

Jeez those cobble stones must play hell with your suspension :frog:

Desmondo 26-May-2005 18:55

Mmmm, wouldn't mind knowing what the rare ones are either. I've got a few of these at home but doubt they are the rare ones.

Doesn't quite seem to be attracting as much attention as yours did Jasper - With nearly 2 days gone it's up to a whopping £5.50

adam 27-May-2005 16:23

Desmondo, the ones to lok out for are
1999 Troy Corser £450 upwards
2000 Troy Bayliss £400 upwards
2000 Ben Bostrom £250 upwards
2000 Neil Hodgson £150-200
2000 John Reynolds £100-150
2000 Foggy. £60-80

the top three are the ones which fetch good money, the others are between topping £200 except foggy.

Twinfan 27-May-2005 16:29

2002 Hizzy, 2003 Katoh RCV and 2004 Rossi test bike get £75ish, and Adam has missed two other big price bikes:

2002 Katoh NSR £200ish
2000 Rossi NSR £175ish

Desmondo 27-May-2005 16:31

Ah right. Only bikes I have from them is the Foggy and Reynolds. Both are signed.

Twinfan 27-May-2005 16:35

I don't know how much the signed ones go for...

adam 27-May-2005 16:38

they go for a lot less, but seeing as you are a DSC member Desmondo, I will give you a half descent price, but not too descent though just enough to put a smile on my face.:P

deej 27-May-2005 18:54

adam you never stop trying do you

desmnondo is your reynolds the no 3 bsb bike or the 47 wildcard wsb ??

Desmondo 31-May-2005 10:12

Mmmm, now you mention it...I can't remember

It's currently still packed away in a box from when I moved all my stuff. I'll see if I can dig it out tonight and take a look.

Desmondo 31-May-2005 23:52

deej, took a look tonight and it's the No.47 :)

ziggi 01-Jun-2005 23:13

I think that all the championship winning bikes go for good money - I'm struggling to get the bikes I want for reasonable money. Just got a reynolds red bull 2001 BSB champ #3 for £40.

Cool, I have all of the prime top 3, and I paid less than 30 quid each. And no their not for sale :smug:

gunforhire 08-Jun-2005 18:22

I've got a Bayliss Imola rep in the house. I'm sure it's the same. Got it off Ebay a few years ago.
Then I went to the Factory and saw the real thing!:D
There's also a petrol tank for Bayliss's bike (in silver) lying around in one of the storage sheds in Bologna!
