Fuel Consumption Just wondering ... what are people getting on a full tank? I average 120 miles on my 748S with Termis. Is that normal? |
I get about the same, but much less if I'm gunning it! Like about 80-90miles to a tank round snetterton :( We're talking about when the reserve light stays on right, not when the bike trickles to a halt at the side of the road? :) |
I get about 80 miles until the light comes on, this is on a 996. I used to get more but it dropped a lot after re-gearing to 14/38. There's quite a lengthy post about this on the old forum. |
120ish until light shines on my 748R with 14/39 gearing or sub 100 if i'm caning the poor girl:devil: |
First tank after I bought my 748BP, I got 170 miles before the light came on. Now I get between 130-140 before the light comes on. Last month in France, I was only getting 120 before the light came on (might have been giving it a little more right hand:D) |
85 to the constant light Always get the same but always give it large on the throttle though. Its what they are made for you know. Got 110 miles to the light on the way back from Ireland but I had a hangover and was scared of all the fed speed traps in scotland so no right wrist wriggle for me. Never get much more than 85 miles to 12 litres of fuel so that is approx 26/27 mpg me thinks in a drunken stupour. Not the main reason I bought a Duke for though, thats the smile factor. On track its more like 20 mpg or a little more. |
Geoff, I didn't think I hung around on the road, but I always get around 50 mpg. Perhaps you've got too many trick bits on yours weighing it down - LOL |
Beer belly + Trick bits? Thought trick bits were to lose weight not put it on?:frog: You need to give it a bit more mate, or do I need to give it a bit less occifer?:sing: |
Motion Potion! Have no idea how much the 998s drinks but my Jota does less than 20 mpg when given the berries.:o |
my 748bp drinks alot when abused, say around 110/120 to a full tank. :ninja: |
Fuel Overfill ? With out wishing to crash the thread (Well it is fuel related) is there a fuel overfill pipe underneath my 748 ? After ffilling up the other night I came back from paying and noticed it peeing out fule from one of the rubber pipes sticking out under the bike. I left it for a while and it stopped ? Someone please say I overfilled it and theres no problem ! Mac |
126 until the light 13l (200 km) on a 998S with 14 front sproket. After getting the PC3 set up by dynojet they said I would get worse fuel consumption (richened up the mixture) but lo and behold no change. It could be that those of you who get less ride harder? but at the IOM I saw no signs of that I was cruising around. I wonder what Chillo gets?? managed to get 146 miles touring back through France. |
my 748 averages around 110\120 miles before filing her up. |
I get about 120/130 on tank riding at around 100 mark was getting about 160 when ingermany last year on boring long autobarnes, if giving loads of welly then about 85/90 till light comes on, but hey i wouldn't careless if i only got 10 mpg its well worth it.:D |
100/130 ish ! |
About 110/120 till the light stays on. This is from a 24l tank though. Don't do any motorway miles with the 998R though. Best i have ever had is 180 and the light still wasn't on.This was on a 916sp3. |
as low as ninty odd on my 748r but as much as 160 before the light came on when i did a weekend tour a few weeks ago (a lot of high gear cruising leaning in the tank bag - which is a good cure for aching wrists) |
17lts = 231K's. This was with moments of madness and a bit of touring in the mountains of France. How do I know 231. My fuel light was shagged. Luckily I could free-wheel back down the hill. |
