Slippers???? Hi people I am looking into the idea of getting a slipper clutch for the 996. I am interested to hear of any plus/ bad points , or of what to avoid. I am not made of money and need to ensure that i get one and not regret it. I don't think i will be looking at 48teeth as i cannot go that far. Has any body had any experiance of using this seller http://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQsassZniki748 . If so good or bad? Value or not?? Thanks in advance Doogalman |

use the search facility, there are lots of recent threads on slipper clutches and which ones are best .. after most discussion the general comsensus seems to be ... 1st choice - 48t STM Evo 2nd choice - the one you are looking at. 3rd choice - the items sold by Sigma www.sigmaperformance.co.uk |

awesome piece of kit, genuine Corse item scary price new. Really happy with mine after about 1500 road miles. Can't wait for the first trackday of the year. (20th June for me) Nick who's selling the one's on ebay supplies the plates as well (although you can use standard plates). The plates are non standard as supplied and they seem to last forever, mine haven't worn since fitting (pack measured before and after) Forgot to mention, the 6 post ones are Bucci and the 4 post are STM, but use more exotic materials than the standard STM ones. Personally I'd not go for the 48 tooth one as they can't use a standard clutch pack, but that's a personal preference nothing more. [Edited on 21-5-2005 by Mr_S] |

6 post is a ramp and ball bearing 4 post is ramp only but can be pegged to allow you to use a starter if you're racing. So, personally, unless you're racing, go for the 6 post if he's got one as although the 4 post is the newer design, and will probably need the ramps greasing between every service, although it's not too much of a hardship to do as an interim task. |

i bought the 4 post. you need stronger springs. no big deal greasing it. you need a diffrent nut. as well. the plates last well. thare are yoused. i would buy new, if had known, stm do one 450 with plates.caslio around 500. |
