44 tooth rear ally sprocket for 03 monster 620

AFAM don't make ally ones apparently (just got off the phone from Bike Torque Racing). Renthal do but BandC are out of stock and won't have one for 4-6 weeks.

Does anyone have one that I can have please?

I've tried spareshack as well ...

AK 24-May-2005 12:53

tried Harris?

or Talon?

uncledunnie 24-May-2005 12:58

if its for castle coombe I've got a 54 tooth one you can have, I'll even fit it for you :D:D

domski 24-May-2005 13:01

The 44T is the standard fitment on the 'Sport' models.

[Edited to add this...] The sprocket fitment is the same on all Monster models 600 - 900 (inc. 620i & 800i) and all Supersport models too... running a 520 pitch chain[Edit]

I've looked on just about all the websites I can find, and TP is ringing around too.

Lots of people list them in their 'online shops' but no-one actually has any :(

Poor lamb

Tonio600 24-May-2005 13:02

What does ally mean ?

domski 24-May-2005 13:03

Aluminium... the light stuff... not steel :D

domski 24-May-2005 13:04

...although when you're 18 stone :o, does it really matter if you save 20 grammes on a sprocket

I have a brand-new 43T that I won't be using at Combe..................at least part of my bike might get top 10!

uncledunnie 24-May-2005 13:53

remember you can use a different front aswell to achieve the gearing you are looking for and then you could use a different rear (that might be available) to adjust the final drive ratio.

this attachment (gearing table) should help - bit ott but very interesting. you can customise it to your own bike/tyres etc.

TP 24-May-2005 13:55

Don't kid yourself Dom!

I was running 15/46 on the practice day and it wouldn't pull the gearing, so I'm going to go shorter. The idea was to go to 14/44 but I may have a look at 14/45 first. Seeing as I can't track a 44 down anywhere ....

I ran 14/48 at Brands Indy and it would'nt pull over 8500 rpm in 5th and 6th on the relatively short start finish straight.

Maybe I should chop my legs off too.....

domski 24-May-2005 14:04

TP and I, have been mass debating over this :o:lol:

I think that the DD bikes should be able to pull standard or taller gearing at CC, but TP thinks he needs to go shorter.

Thing is, TP was pulling 9,500 revs at Cadwell on the same gearing as he had at CC and couldn't pull more than 8,000 revs, yet the straight at CC is easily twice as long as at Cadwell... how strange is that?!?!?!

Everyone seems to be running shorter gearing than stock road settings... I just don't get it :sniff:

fil2 24-May-2005 14:11

not all............................some of us need a better top speed.....:puzzled:

It wouldn't pull 14/48???? Wow, that's WAY short!

I'm going to run 14/46 there tomorrow and see how I get on.

I know it sounds funny me going shorter but I think that will give me more top speed.

And beautifully, it will also give me more drive off the corners :D

skidlids 24-May-2005 14:16

Although I'm only running a lowly underpowered 583 I was looking at running either 15/42 or 15/41 gearing, there should be plently of bikes in front for me to slipstream. But only one practice session that is going to be our timed quallifier there isn't a lot of room for to big a error.

fil2 24-May-2005 14:29

15/41 would be a good start for you kev...i was on 14/39..the ratio difference is 0.3........

but i'm changing mine to get more top speed...........

Phil

Shazaam! 24-May-2005 16:12

As a reminder, on the straights almost all your power is being used to overcome aerodynamic drag so learn to tuck-in well to go faster.

Very good point - I have clipons and a nosecone to go on the bike. I'll be able to get right under it all.

TP 24-May-2005 16:21

You can't run that fast Dom.

I'm so gonna kick you're ar$e.

phoenix n max 24-May-2005 18:33

TP - have you tried Mike at robsom racing ?
Mine arrived last week 2 days after ordering. I'm not sure if your bike and mine use the same sprockets though but worth a try.
Link below

TP 24-May-2005 18:40

No I haven't to be honest.

What did you order?

phoenix n max 24-May-2005 18:50

44t renthal lightweight -Hmm 236 - 520 (on me 46t one)if that means anything!

[Edited on 24-5-2005 by phoenix n max]

TP 24-May-2005 18:53

That's one of the bad boys I'm after. Maybe a different fitment but a 44t is the one I'm after.

domski 24-May-2005 19:07

It's the right one TP... 236-520-44

236 = sprocket design
520 = chain pitch
44 = how many races it'll take before you're as good as me
