dvd nightmare anyone tried to copy video from their pc onto dvd ? i have spent three nights trying to do this and soon i will be taking my pc into the garden and giving it a good kicking... roxio EASY media my butt...... |
I Use Cyberlink PowerDirector, does the job for me with the family footage, and done a couple of weddings too. Takes an age to render it though. EZ Producer's a sub component of it that takes already edited .mpg / .avi etc and you use it to create the menus, chapters etc then burn it to disc or a set of master files, then to disc. |
I use Pinnacle Studio 9. Easy peasy. |
i use iDVD and iMove HD, but they are for the mac |
I use DVD Studio Pro but that's on a Mac too. :frog: |
iDVD, iMovie HD or DVD Studio Pro and Final Cut work for me. Toast works as well. ( all Apple programs I'm afraid) [Edited on 3-6-2005 by Gizmo] |
I simply use a TV out card on the PC and dump it onto video tape / DVD and it works ok....looses a bit of quality but I can live with it. maybe 2cows or Kazza might be your friend here ;) Frank |
Pinnicale again:) |
I had major problems copying files to just a plain old CD (Win XP of course). Then I read a book and right clicked the CD drive in explorer and made sure that the write settings were applied - problem solved. May or may not help. |
still can`t get it to work, basically have copied video from camera thru firewire to pc hard drive, edited video, opened roxio, put edited video into burn window (it previews ok) click burn then my dvd drive whirrs a bit then roxio crashes and i cannot open the dvd drive tray until i reset the pc.:puzzled: any help mucho appreciated.. |
Another Mac user here, just get one, it will make your iLife so much easier. iMovie, iDVD etc, easy as farting. Paul |
uncleporry: most dvd/cd drives can be frigged open in the power down state by sticking a needle or end of a paper clip in the tiny hole in the front of the dvd/cd drawer. That should allow you to at least get the discc out without restarting. |
Sounds like Roxio doesn't support the type of DVD drive you have? It might be worth checking for an update/patch of the roxio software and/or your cd drivers. |
thanks i`ll give it a go :) |
Roxio software sucks in my opinion always has and always will, it is known to cause the largest number of system problems. As you have already ripped the the files to HD you should give AVS a go http://www.avsmedia.com/VideoConverter/index.aspx |
does your DVD drive support the disk you are using (DVD-R, DVD+R, etc.) Do you have enough memory left for the file to use when writing. An AVI file sucks a lot of memory space for use when writing to disk. |
thanks bionicle, will try it. mad dog, yes, dvd drive is + & - compat, if by memory you mean hard drive space , then yes, i have 11 gigs spare. roxio has a drive compatability section and my drive is supported and it lists it as working properly etc.. i think maybe roxio is corrupted, will re-install and try again. thanks all for the help. |
great. Good luck. Roxio has never given me much problem and the one time I contacted them their response was fast and on the money. May want to try that as well. Tell us what you find. |
The Roxio Easy Media DVD creator that I have crashed more than I do, so it's not the best software in the world. It also doesn't like my DVDRW drive either, but it will burn disks from ISO images, so I have to create a DVD like that then burn it! I agree it's not the best (technically) software but it sure is easy to create a menu'd dvd using it. |
