Computer help needed!
 

Help,i'm currently loading my cd collection onto 'realplayer' but my pc only has a 40gGb hard drive and i've already used 13Gb on about 220 cd's,i've got about 450-475 to go.I don't really want to change the computer,so what options do i have?I'm looking at needing 45Gb ish but would prefer alot more,say 80Gb.Can i get an external harddrive and use it as a mobile jukebox?and will i be able to load 'realplayer' on it.Sorry,i know very little about this stuff.

Maybe not much help, But I convert everything to MP3 as its only playing on the computer, if you need a copy of Nero U2U me and its in the post.

Save you a little space if anything, and realplayer see's mp3

I only have a 20gig HD but a stack of MP3 CD's ready to play.

PS currently listen to "Down from the Mountain"

Launch Nero StartSmart click on the convert audio CD's to audio files
then choose your posion ie mp3.

swannymere can you not fit a 2nd hard drive? you can buy several types of external drives, USB2 or Cat5 spring to mind, you wouldn't need to load Realplayer etc just dump the music onto the new drive unplug it and plug it in on another computer, later versions of windows media player can handle MP3's and most sound formats (apart from AAC etc)

If you download to the latest version 10 of Windows Media Player it has a MP3 ripper/burner all built in for easy use!

I'd also go along with JPM and use another hard drive (which is what I do, buits an internal and I use the machine with no lid for easy install/removal, but then I used to build them..I can claim to working on one of the first 386's in the country!!!).

or an Icebox external and fit your own drive. Either way load you MP3s on to these and leave your main drive for games and porn, obviously I don't do that.
