Oh! No! Loss of confidence....

Ok...After an off 6ish weeks ago and another "drop" this week I came to the conclusion that I really have "lost it".
I had no confidence in the bikes handling especially on right handers and right hand junctions...
I went out on the mito for a small blat practising my right hand turns...still very tentative:(
Oh! No! I thought, I am never gonna get back to it again....How can this happen to me????
Tonight I decided to nip out to Gunthorpe and practice a few right handers and stop making excuses to get back on the duke.....and...er...
Whilst pulling out of the petrol station I noticed that my hand was "touching" the tank....
When I dropped it I'd only gone and bent the bars out of alignment!...DOH!
:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:
And one ride home later all better!

thought I'd share that with you all...I thought it was funny!

i'll get my coat...and my blonde hairpiece:burn:

ok ok I`m sorry for the sexist remark, I`ll put a packet of jelly babies in the post for you!!

Fordie 15-Jun-2005 00:35

Liza , Its in your mind . I no and you no the SS is a great bike .it will do anything you ask it . Find that bend, set her up tip her in and pull her round,if its not happening then check your suspension . Maybe soften the rear a bit on the adjuster. 4D

S'funny!!! My bars are nearer 24" different in position at the ends, mind you Steve I don't have both bars on the same side of the bike like you mate ;)

Desmondo 15-Jun-2005 11:38

Loss of confidence or loss of brain cells?

Rushjob 15-Jun-2005 17:35

Time to remove the blonde highlights I think Lisa!!!!

skidlids 15-Jun-2005 19:05

Lisa your not the first and you will not be the last, eh Weeksy oh was that the GSXR you were refering to and not the time you had out of line bars on the 916 :D

Loz 15-Jun-2005 19:23

Funny when your confidence goes - you start to think everything is down to you or your supposed lack of ability.
You start to miss the obvious stuff, like the rear tyre being punctured, you ask yourself "Why I can't do corners anymore?!". *

*based on a true story (actually, a couple of true stories now I think of it ...)

:D Glad you and your bike are getting sorted, Lisa :D

kwikbitch 15-Jun-2005 23:29

well...caned it home after Gunthorpe with an off duty policeman following (well up until he lost me when he wouldn't do a bit more than the speed limit!:saint: ) who said I looked ok!
It felt great...I must ask the hairdresser to put the red back in...I think the blonde is having an effect!
AND what's this about the track God that is Weeksy doing the same thing...:lol::lol:
I feel much better:P

Top news missus.

Like I said at the weekend, what you need is a nice 748 :D

Hope it all goes well and if you can get out on Sunday we are at Silverstone if you fancy a cuppa and some chocky biccies :D

kwikbitch 15-Jun-2005 23:45

Mmmmm....The lure of Choccie biccies??? Will see what I can do;)

guest1 15-Jun-2005 23:50

Lisa, Chalk it up to experience and learn from it - your mistake or otherwise.

And watch out for the choccie biccies, your leathers'll need modifying if you don't.
