Nervous newbie!

I am a bit nervous, not of riding the bike for the first time, not for racing the first time, not even for riding at Snetterton for the first time. I am a bit nervous that I have missed something either on the bike or with paperwork etc. So if you see someone looking a bit bewildered stood by race number 3, be very grateful if you point or prod me in the right direction. But really looking forward to it.

Your nervous now!! Just wait while you are waiting to go out on that grid. Good luck and see you there.

Have you booked into a garage? I shared a garage with other DDers last year and just followed them like a lost puppy, they saw me right.

P.S. Nothing can prepare you for the first corner

Yes got pit / garage booked, that really was reason for posting the thread.....it's an apology in advance of being a being like a 12 year old; Why do you do this?.....What is that for?........What happens next? etc etc But also like an excited kid, I am looking forward to the racing bit, even that first corner!

Just remember its left, left, left, left, and left again

Right back to watching laps on youtube, just need a slow motion setting as Lodgy's laps are a bit quick

Jonzi 05-Mar-2013 23:17

Will it be too late to book a garage space?

skidlids 05-Mar-2013 23:28

That does depend if there is any garage space left, you will need to contact Hottrax

Jonzi 06-Mar-2013 17:07

I am in garage 5.

Will also be there for the test day on Friday.

Number 48, probably looking lost, bewildered and mostly likely scared.

Where do people park up?

I suppose I will be sleeping in my van (if the one I am hiring is clean enough!). Can I park outside the garage?

Get there early and park outside your garage. Make sure you take an extension lead and a fan heater. ;) trust me.

You should be able to park in rows 3 deep out side the garage, usually get at least 6 vehicles behind each garage and its usually no more than 6 bikes per garage, caravans can muck the figures up a bit.
Access on race day is from the rear of the garage to get to the collecting area and when returning from Parc Ferme so space should be left between the rows to allow access

if you intend running a mains cable from the garage to your van, caravan, camper etc then you will need a anti trip cover for it

Us Southerners are made from tough stuff. You saw, no coat and it was snowing at Oulton!

(I'll be bringing many blankets and sleeping bags)

I remember 3 years ago sleeping in the van at Brands. Now it was 5 degrees but the van acts like a fekin big metal coolbox. We where fully clothed, hats and 2 duvets. Oh how I wished we had brought a heater especially as there was lecy provided. Never made that mistake again. :D

£10 heater form Argos
£10 portable gas stove
£5 spare gas canisters

Best £25 you will spend.
