Parc Ferme

:o Ooo why we gotta do that then ?

On the entries it says we have to do a parc ferme on Sat - 30 mins.

AK 16-Jun-2005 13:41

Prolly so they can check all bikes are as they should be?

:)

ChrisBushell 16-Jun-2005 14:03

News to me, when is this supposed to be happening, after the race? I wonder who is supposed to be doing the checking?

I am already going to have to leave home at 06.00 on the 25th, I would like to get home at a reasonable time.

Chris

AK 16-Jun-2005 14:20

Parc ferme is also standard for any endurance race says AK . Often to make sure nothing has been incorrectly done during all the changes within the race, or if any objections are made

Also, its in the ACU rules too - so can be applied whenever they like:)

skidlids 16-Jun-2005 14:20

Maybe they can feel a protest coming on or maybe they think its not going to be a issue as they expect all our bikes to shake themselves to bits in a 30 minute race.
Still I'm happy to put mine in Parc Ferme to be checked for weight, cc, tyres etc.

Tonio600 16-Jun-2005 14:25

what is parc ferme? Does it mean that they keep all bikes 30mn before the race to check we don't put some nitromethanol in the tank?

ChrisBushell 16-Jun-2005 14:27

Funny thing is that we are not running an endurance race and we do not do this at New Era meetings.

If someone wants to put in a protest they pays their money and I will have to then go round and get the bike checked, as I will be on my own that day.

phoenix n max 16-Jun-2005 14:38

I'm happy for any checks whatsoever - but there's no smoking in the pit lane and i'm sure i'll be in need of a puff or 2 after 30mins around Snetterton! :o

That's an odd question from a Frenchman!

After the race, and it's just like an area where once you've dropped the bike off you have to leave it there to be checked over, should somebody so wish.

TP 16-Jun-2005 14:51

Will they give it a wash for me? That would be nice.

antonye 16-Jun-2005 14:53

I'm more worried about mine catching fire after a 30 min race!

ChrisBushell 16-Jun-2005 14:55

I suppose that we could always ask Lin to have a fag over that way, perhaps you need to make sure that the bikes are insured!

phoenix n max 16-Jun-2005 15:01

Reckon they will all be a tad warm after 30 mins :o

antonye 16-Jun-2005 15:02

Exactly.

I got off singing "My nuts roasting on this open fire!" after a Snetterton trackday :o

skidlids 16-Jun-2005 15:03

Not if is raining (please)

Doubt if they would last long if you could see where I live, besides a little rain never hurt anyone especially if they're on a 583

I may as well be on a 53 if it rains :( it's bad enough in the dry - i'm a scaredy cat in the wet :sniff:
Can someone please go around to Skids house and tape him up firmly with duct tape so he can't do a rain dance please?

AK 16-Jun-2005 15:42

a Parc Ferme, is where the bike AND the rider are gated for the designated time after the race.
Paddock stands can be brought in, but NOTHING must be touched on the bike.

Usually all just stand about nattering till time out is given:)

its nothing out of the ordinary tho.

They had us in the 2003 Proddy 1000 TT, they wheeled my bike away from Parc Ferme, yes it was a 600 that had just finished 25th, caught in the act and excluded from the results.
