tyre choice was made at the begining of the season!!!why should ferrari back out of the race because of michelins mistake

Would you have Raced???????????????

domski 19-Jun-2005 20:09

Michelin did the same to Bridgestone in the past - so all's fair in love and war ;)

So would Coulthard, Webber and a few others by the sounds of things. The teams can't afford the legal repercussions, the Senna court saga is still dragging on and Ron Dennis is still in and out of court.

They can't afford more ...

madmav 19-Jun-2005 20:17

politics ! thats it ! nowt to do with safety it's all about who can sue who!!!!!!!!!!! period

TP 19-Jun-2005 20:20

Yep, a sad commercial reality.

rockhopper 19-Jun-2005 20:22

Racing and F1 in the same sentence? Surely some mistake!!!

Spent the day at a baking hot Darley Moor watching real racing. Thats what its all about.

TP 19-Jun-2005 20:23

Wouldn't it be funny if both the Ferrari's broke down and didn't finish?

I can't believe the fans are wasting beer by throwing it on the track!!! Wouldn't happen in Australia ;)

domski 19-Jun-2005 20:26

You're right, Australians can't throw...

...judging by the cricket team

TP 19-Jun-2005 20:27

doogalman 19-Jun-2005 21:07

Michelin offered to fly all new tyres over last night. BUT the teams DECLINED the offer.

madmav 19-Jun-2005 21:10

andyb 19-Jun-2005 21:22

Dont think it was the teams that declined, the FIA wouldnt allow it as they haddnt qualified with them.

All the teams bar Ferrari offerd to race with a chicane in place but the poisen dwarf Ecclestone wouldnt av it

andyb 19-Jun-2005 22:47

The most interesting F1 race for years!!

andys 900ss 19-Jun-2005 23:25

Typical F1 !

The only one I seen this year.

WHO CARES ABOUT THE FANS ??? Bunch of Do-gooders..

Andy

rockhopper 20-Jun-2005 09:28

Oddly enough its the first F1 race this year that i've watched all the way through!

JPM 20-Jun-2005 11:03

Who knows what's going to happen, will the FIA take Michelin to court?

Will this force Michelin out of F1? I doubt it as that would do more harm than good.

Will F1 still run in the US?

If anything more people will turn to bike racing I'd hope, god if Nakano can get thrown off at 200+mph after his bridgestone delaminated and race next weekend what's all this tyre mallarky about anyway :rolleye:

It is Williams and Patrick Head who were in and out of court.
