Rail congestion charge WTF? They want to introduce Road pricing, to keep us off the roads in peak times. Now they dont want us to travel on trains in peak hours. Shall we just go on the dole and not bother... Whats next?:puzzled: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4112360.stm |
Hold on a mo, I thought thay wanted to get people off the road and to use public transport more! If there not carefull people might get the idea that there trying to profit from the trains and screw the train users at the same time, a bit like that criminal livingstone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JESUS H it makes my blood boil! |
be a crime to breath soon......oh I forgot if you wear a hoody it already is! |
I quote "But the Rail Passengers Council said travelling at off-peak times should be made "more attractive"." So how about making off peak times "cheaper" rather then continually putting the prices up?:puzzled: B`stards. [Edited on 21-6-2005 by Bubbles] |
No seen the news but, there has always been peak and off peak pricing on the routes into London. I guess the peak rpices are going up even more. it's not like they would reduce the off peak prices :P |
Just goes to show how out of touch MPs are. They wouldn't last a week in the real world; average wage, using public transport, hard days work, etc. |
I would be getting an old hack to ride in from where you are antony |
It's 44 miles and takes an hour in the morning but nearly 2 in the evening due to the traffic. Basically you join the queue at the A13 in the City and then filter all the way through Stratford out to Ilford and onto the A12. There's a short break when you get to Romford as the cars thin out a bit, but then it's back to filtering as you get to the M25 junction, then it's slow moving all the way to Chelmsford. It's crazy and I really don't like doing it at all. When they replaced large chunks of the old A12 (high street roads) with the new dual carriageway, you'd think it would be fast and safe. However, you pass 13 speed cameras and all the dual carriageway section is 40mph - even though there's 15 feet of banking either side! WTF?!?! How they think charging more to stop people using peak hour trains is beyond me. It's not like we do it for fun or anything! ****ing idiots, the lot of em. |
Doh, i forgot that i was doing it against the flow of traffic when i was going fron limehouse to ipswich. It's amasing what a difference that makes. i did not mind filtering, i think that i got quite good at it :D. Some days it got bloody cold and the A12 seems to go on forever. I used to think it was the uk's most boring journey, until I rode up to Cadwell (except the last bit) |

I wish they were but it’s the Wa***ers that voted them back in that are the F***ing idiots. Won’t be long before they ride in to town bludgeoning us and burning down our houses like the good old days  |
Brilliant news, I commute from Hastings to London and back every weekday, costing me £3000.00 for an annual and that's just for the train, no bus or tube involved! So another charge would be welcomed warmly, I think not:flame::flame: |
I may be wrong but I believe that Bikes are exempt from road charging. Thus, if the bunch of 'aping primates' bring road charging in and the 'train corps' also want to cash in then my 28 mile commute will be covered by a brand new 900 Monster, I will purchase. Wether the wife likes the idea of a 2nd bike or not. |
Congestion charging yes, road charging no. From the details so far, it looks like everyone will pay the same flat rate - so Mr Trucker will be paying the same rate as Mr Biker, as Mrs (or Mrs!) SmartCar as Mr 4-litre BMW. Aren't we supposed to be promoting a more environmentally-friendly transport plan these days? If so, neither of these suggestions seem to be of benefit but more to the detriment! |

Exactly! I mean invading Iraq, the fuel protests a few years ago, fuel pricing, CSA/Tax credit mess to name but a few great ideas :puzzled: But more so the idiots that voted them back in :rolleye: |

Well it wasn't me, that's for sure! |
Could anyone please explain to me, using words of one syllable (or less), what difference it makes WHAT load of idiots gets voted in ? i.e are they not all as bad as each other ? |
Its amazing. They try to price us off the road to get us to use public transport, but public transport can't cope so they try to price that to force us... where exactly..... Pavement charging next cos the flag stones can't cope with everyone walking to work. |

Er.............I though the trains were privatised by your alternative to the current shower of s...... Their sole intention is to make a profit, sod the customer, and look after your share bonus! |
