996 Airbox Seal

I'm on the phone to JHP now chasing one of these and there's a bit of head scratching going on. Does anyone have a part number for one of these?

It's the main big rubber seal that runs around the airbox that the tank sits on.

Cheers,

TP

mastic mate .. or bathroom sealer ....

or maybe some industrial cement, that'll stop the gravel getting in ...

Errr.. great, thanks Dibble ...

Well, parts at JHP have thrown their hands in the air. They reckon you can't get one separately which I don't think is the case - I know their man parts man is otherwise occupied at the moment. ....

Can anyone help here?

Dibble 28-Jun-2005 12:50

phone Kevin at DLS on 0208 689 6998, if you tell them I sent you he'll take your call ... or just lie and say you are me to get put through .... :frog:

Natty sold me one ages ago, and it had a part number, so you can buy them separate. In fact I'm sure I've still got one spare which I offered you ages ago when I got your airbox painted, you numpty.

<goes to check>

7911 0411A "Gasket" for a 996.

The parts pdf's dont list it as a separate item..

So your lucky Antonye keeps his rubbish :)

There's a new one on eBay with "Buy it Now":

TP 28-Jun-2005 16:44

£30!

I don't think so ...

Dibble 28-Jun-2005 17:01

just spoke to Kev at DLS ..... £25.81 new ...... TP stop being a cheapskate ... oh, and they are a non stock item and take about a week ....

m1keyp 28-Jun-2005 17:01

£ 30.00 sounds like a bargain with anything Ducati, probably a typo and it should be £300.00:sing:

Why would I do that when I might have Ant's off him for a tenner?

Besides, I need it before then. I'd buy that one off e-bay before that.

Dibble 28-Jun-2005 17:23

Ant knows what its worth now so no way you are getting it for a tenner, in fact I think mines on the way out .... Ant .. will you take £15 ????

antonye 28-Jun-2005 17:54

Muppets, the lot of you.

hooley 28-Jun-2005 18:04

Try Baines racing at Silverstone...got mine from there and they carry them in stock
Not sure of the no.

Hope it helps all you non-cheapskates
