Next tuning step? Help!

Thanks for the link Kev...

http://www.moto-one.com.au/performance/600monster.html

I've got a 1999 583 (although the V5C says 584cc?) Monster with hi-level SilMotor race pipes, stage 2 Dynojet kit with the needles raised 1 notch (otherwise the bottom falls out of my bottom end power) and a DP (K&N) filter kit. Reading the notes from our antipodean friends (see link above) says we've done just about everything we can except dialling in the cams. I guess that in my search for the best power obtainable from my bike I need to give it a go?

The big question is, how :puzzled:
Is it something the home anti-mechanic (me) or the home DIY expert (James) could manage with basic tools or is it a specialist task? If so then who'd you recommend and is it expensive?

Louigi is near Bristol :)

Thanks Dom, if I can't get sorted locally it may need a special trip up the M27/3/4 to get it sorted then.

May I suggest A303 and A37 (or A39)?? Perhaps :P

Or let Rich take it away after Donny? and deliver it back to you at Brands?

Or try Moto Rapido at Winchester or Brancatto Engineering at Charlgrove, Baines Racing at Silverstone or maybe Pro Twins

 Thanks chaps. So it's not really a DIY job then ;)

There is an excellent tuning shop a lot closer to you Paul.

Dialled the cams on my 620, and my 996. Amongst other things ;)

Sounds like and echo in here but; Sigma set-up my 620 (including help with chasis set-up) and my 996 and I wouldn't go anywhere else.

What the BLOOMIN' 'ECK does "dialled the cams" mean?

I've personally decided to not spend a penny (other than fitting the (near-useless big-bore kit) on tuning the gutless wonder anyway, and instead concentrate on "tuning" my brain to hold the throttle open for longer and/or harder!!!!!!!!!!!!

S'funny you should mention that. I felt that there were loads of places at Brands on Monday that I could have done just that, kept the throttlo open for longer and harder, just kept getting caught up with superbike jockeys in the corners! Serves me right for playing in the fast inters but I could definitely have gone faster with a clear track, as I started to find on the last but one session

Should have come to play in Fast Paul :)
