[Ebay] Termignoni |
not according to DPP parts book, its 04 or earlier model 999 specific |
That's because of the new swingarm on the '05s. The front pipe won't clear it. I'd also guess the ECU won't be suitable either, but you could use a PCIII instead. |
Swingarm is the big issue... |
is wheel clearance under the can also an issue?? if not you could get can and buy 05 link pipes individually |

...and I think I'm right in saying that all 999's are now the deep sump engine (?) so the front pipe in that system will not only hit the swing arm , it will also hit the sump. As stated above , the ECU will probably be be no good , you could run with a PC or just use the standard ECU. If you can buy it cheap enough it may be worth it for the silencer / carbon cover and air fillters , a front pipe to suit the deep sump and fabricated swing arm is around £150 inc VAT which is all you would really need to make it fit. |
Yep - the link pipe and ECU are the problem. The box, cover, filters etc will all fit OK. TO make it worthwhile: PCIII - around £300 Setup - around £100 Link pipe - around £150 That's £450. An assymetric Termi set is around £1000, so you'd want to get the one on eBay for around £350ish to make it worth while for you. Can't see that happening to be honest. It'll go to someone with an '03 or '04 year 999 for around £700 or so. They can just bolt it straight on and use the ECU too :bouncy: |
..No that I need more HP or speed, but of course, I like the idea and the noise of a Termi set. ..Anyone around that has already fitted a 05 999 BIP with a termi system? is it a bolt off/on modification (with the ECU also) or the rear frame needs to be adjusted? Pricing and a dealer that knows what is doing? - no e-bay for me... Thanks guys |
I heard that Termi's to fit the '05 bikes are in short supply.Thankfully one comes in the box with the 'S'.:D:D:D |
So guys, can I confirm that you're saying the Termi can isn't what makes the asymetric kits model specific,it's actually the ecu+front pipe? If that's the case (and it does seem to make sense),then a 749/999 series can should fit anything from a 749 bip to a 999R on the assumption that the pipe (and ecu) are changed....... |
Although my bike is an 03 i fitted the full 57mm termi system. The problem is doing the quiet t/days as with the assymetric system you can swap cans but this you cant. So, ive aquired a second std can and modified its end to accept the full 57mm pipework! Woo hoo............. |

Correct. Everything but the R series bikes has the same assymetric end can. The R isn't listed in the preformance parts catalogue as it comes with it's own can. |
Brogins - yes it's a bolt-on or bolt-off mod (Termis). Price is over £1000, and someone local should be able to recommend a dealer. I'm too far North! |
Twinfan... When you say the 'R' comes with it's own can,do you mean that it has it's own specific asymetric-kit part number and it has a different Termi to the others? |

The early 'R' models came with a 'race' can that you could use with the standard downpipes. The rear outlets were very small and the improvements in noise/power very disapointing.Later models come with the larger outlet can and catless front pipe the same as the '05 'S'. |

I'd thought about getting this done. Did you have a new final "Y" piece made? if so who did it please? |
I also am looking at a Termi new but a full system 50mm for my 749BIP 2003 can anyone confirm that this one on the DP Manchester site is the right one for y year and model? Part No. 96433003B http://www.ducatistore.co.uk/acatalo...nce_Parts.html |
Yep, "gimpboy" - that's the correct part and part number. sye73 - Keefyb is spot on :) |

No ive left the final y piece as is. If you line the std can next to the termi one for the 57mm, you can see the std assymetric one is longer. I cut straight across to make it the same length as the termi, you can if you cut carefully, modify the pieces of pipe youve cut off as the new flanges. |
Thanks twinfans |
