Tidying up the rear ? Does anyone have any pics of numberplate relocators ? I have seen the motrax rsend for £30....are there any others ? Mick |
This is my www.ducati9.net no.plate relocator, from memory £30-35,and less likely to snap your no.plate ![]() [Edited on 15-7-2005 by swannymere] |
Talk to Nelly about the Evoluzione model. Easy-peasy to fit and very tidy! |

There is also these FAB tidies on Ebay. Not cheap at £65 but very well made. Dang!Cant seem to get link to work. [Edited on 13-7-2005 by KeefyB] |
I fitted an rsend and it OK.Just that. Not too impressed, doent seem that stable. Fiddley re-doing the numberplate light. Swannymere's looks a lot more sensible since the fixing points create a triangle making it stronger. I will take a photo of my rsend tonite (ooeerr) and try to post it tomorrow but a) I am new to this board game and b) bit of a technophobe. Do i put the polaroid into the slot where the floppy goes? Seriously i will have a go. kp |

Eh, Adam told me you worked in IT :puzzled: . Not the most ideal prerequisite  |
The "casoli" option is a very simlpe option, works with different exhausts as well. |

Does this come with a new light or keep the existing one? Mike |
Ducati9 one for me to, I've lost 4 plates with the arseend one |
:saint: No rear light solution with the Ducati9 relocator, but that's an easy fix.All you need is replacement light such as the one on page 231 of the current hein gericke catalogue (goto customising, then lights in the online catalogue)There are many solutions to the problem, just comes down to your preference. |

Is that legal ? Can't seem to find Ducati9 is the site down? Mike |
I would guess not legal. Looks v.good though! Just been onto www.ducati9.net and it seems to be up? KP |
i've got one of the small one what ever they are called. havnt had any probs with plates falling off but then mines a 7x2 plate i think. |
I got the Casoli one. Forty-odd quid plus p&p (a lot of money for what you get - light, a coupla wires, bolts and a piece of bent metal). Simple to fit, looks good, gets rid of loads of the cluttery bits, and there's no chance it's gonna foul my (7"x5") plate. |
I got fed up with my original solution so refitted the ally bracket from the original but without all the plastic bits. Still relatively neat but very secure. The number plate light has beed epoxyed to the underside of the rear light. This means shaving off the lip on the lense cover with the two bolt holes. A bit of work but works fine. I'll take a pic later. Oh and it's free of course! |
Occurred to me, when I was dismantling all the gubbins to fit the Casoli tidy, that it wouldn't be that hard to modify the original into something neater. Wonder why it didn't occur to the factory?:puzzled: |
Here's my version. Note the number plate light. http://groups.msn.com/_Secure/0TwAAA...30878570968301 |

Looks very neat.....think i'll have to take a closer look and do something similar Mike |
I agree with Mike - a very neat solution - good job. I will also look at implementing it on my 749 |
Did the deed today..i found that i could transfer everything from the number plate light to the housing underneath the rear light, only had to drill one hole...looks much better...even the lense for the number plate light slots in. It looks as though it was originally designed to be like this, i wonder why Ducati changed it ? Mike |
Yep looks like a good solution to me and of course free. |
Casoli bracket. The upper section snapped so I made one out of brass and will post a pic soon |
no plate relocator!! Designed and made my own for my 748R, will hav to hav a look into them for 999s etc [Edited on 27-7-2005 by Chrisiball] |
