Better tell Shaggy to make sure the DJ's there then, doubt he'll want to play any top 10 hits tho :burn:

Oh yes, electrics permitting, I'll be there :puzzled:

skidlids 18-Jul-2005 13:12

Nos 88 and 3 will be there and No 13 should be reappearing on a new bike with a new rider.

still aiming for top 10, but will accept a 13th. still an improvement for me and it seems to be getting a little crowded!:lol::lol:

multi600 18-Jul-2005 13:37

I'll be there, question is will Ducati UK and guest rider finaly make the grid. It will be interesting to see another Numptystrada on the grid.

Andy#99 18-Jul-2005 16:58

Crikey, how many will be on the grid then?

....."I'll be aiming for a top TWENTY" doesn't sound so sexy does it? But I'll still be there thrashing the knackers off #99.

Oh yes, I just remembered...I'm getting married 14 days after the race...and the "missus-to-be" may be a tad upset if I try too hard and end up smashing myself up....oh yes...and she reads this board....

SO..."I'll be aiming for a top THIRTY"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:lol::lol::lol:

DD races are too easy for me (it's a joke).
So I've decided to discover the track during the untimed practice (hopefully we'll have one):lol::lol::lol: (it's life).

I guess the extended break has got me thinking a little too much. Unsure if I will/can race next year.
Im going into to Donny with a far more relaxed attitude than before trying to find the essence of why i started the DD..FUN.... :)

dickieducati 19-Jul-2005 17:17

phil,

i think the fact of the matter is, if you are even slightly competitive( which i think you are) you will find yourself thinking less about the fun and more about beating the other competitors. i think most of us out there are looking to improve or beat the person we finished behind in the last race. if not then racing isnt really for you. (generally, not you personally).

for me, i dont find it "fun" but i find it more and more enjoyable each race. there is a distinction between the two for me.

i do agree to a certain extent but from a personal point of view i sometimes find myself getting whipped up into the points table frenzy..and all the ramifications of where who what when who do i have to beat !! what happens if !!! i have to reach this goal!!l i have to beat him or get closer to him this race etc etc...i guess i am a very competative person and im trying to get it under control so i can put less pressure on myself..im now sitting 4th in the championship and i feel alot of pressure to maintain that or make attempts to better it.......i never thought i would be here in the top 5 and i should be satisfied with it..but im not.....dammit....so i want to step back and evaluate why im doing it..........and i come up with fun the experience the getting faster the growing as a rider rather than where i place which is up to now what i have been concentrating on......At donny it is not a focal point where i finish

Does that make sense ... lol

beancounter 19-Jul-2005 17:33

Phil, you seem to be constantly re-evaluating yourself and your position and motives, and are never satisfied with where you are and what you've already achieved.

These are qualities of a true 'winner'

Good on ya mate. Good luck at Donny.

TP 19-Jul-2005 17:34

I agree with Tim, Phil just take it easy mate.

You know it makes sense ;)

fil2 19-Jul-2005 17:46

bastids...........no easy path for you my friends..u r gonna have to earn your place above me.......;)...

NBs996 19-Jul-2005 17:59

Phil, If you're not 'appy with 4th then just sit a race out and I'll relieve you of the position. I don't mind, really.

dickieducati 19-Jul-2005 18:14

see........................

notice how much fun we are all having?

everybody cant wait for you to give it a miss so they can take your place:lol::lol::lol:

Chris Wood 19-Jul-2005 21:54

I can't recomend this DD stuff enough, I'm only getting half the experience and still loving every minute of it?

Next year, FOR SURE!

I have lost all interest in road riding, trackdays are now 'test days', I search under 'race' on ebay.......

I wonder will Petronas sponsor me next year?

Or maybe my local Shell garage, I've never bought more 98 RON in my life?

My RS has blown up and I'm thinking, mmmm I could buy a DD bike instead of pay for the repairs....

Bring on Donnington.....never been there!

Rant over!

the old man 19-Jul-2005 22:50

Life, the Universe & Everything - will be there. Hope to improve on my last visit when it was maximum points for my double somersault, backflip & piked entry at the old hairpin - bet they're still finding bits of CBR600 in the long grass!!

phoenix n max 20-Jul-2005 10:28

Max and I will be there.
