TA4 - Bullet cam loan offer :) Since I've had a new hi-res bullet cam this week, my old one's going spare, so if anyone wants to borrow it for TA4 it's available. If you want to borrow it, form an orderly queue here.If there's a bunch of people who want to give it a try, you could arrange amongst yourselves who has it in which session etc. You'll need to supply 1. your own camcorder & cables for the AV IN 2. 8 AA Batteries (for the power) 3. A Velcro fastener pack from halfords (Heavy Duty Stickon 50mmx100mm) for the mount. So for about a tenner you can give bullet cam a try out. I'll help out with mounting etc, 748-998's are easy, the others may require a bit of thought :) |
you can help me with mine then.... |
will do. Did you get the Velcro pack? I think it was you who told me about them. Mine's all wired and ready to go :) |
yep - got valcro, just got to find a way of fixing the camcorder which wont get it fried and will get past TD police |
black masking tape to the yoke :) |
I have a bullet camera fitted to my 748 and will be in the intermediate group, if anyone wants a copy after the day just let me know and I will burn some disks and post them to you. I got some great footage last year of the intermediate group as well. |
Get yourself some mouse mat type material and some gaffa tape. This way it takes a lot of the vibration away and you can have the flexibility of putting it wherever you want, front, back, facing you etc. Depending on the size of your camera, mine used to fit in the tool tray of a 748. THE very best place to put it is to gaffa tape it to your helmet, (steady), this way it takes all the vibration out and it looks where you are looking. If you are putting a camera on your bike, you will have to sign a form with the track management and have a marshall check it is secure. WeeJohnyB |
WJB - I have a bum bag which secures by two valcro straps to the top yoke and doesnt affect the steering- reckon this will be ok? Oh - and are you teaching?? Where can I book:D |
I've also got a bullet cam that can be borrowed if someones interested. |
Johnny, My camera fits in the tool tray and is well out of the way. If I still need to sign a form will these be available on Monday. If not any chance you know who to contact ? Thanks in advance for the info. |
Form will be available on Monday from the office, either go there or speak to one of the Cadwell staff when you sign on. Bradders - still need to sign a form and have it checked, but as long as it's secure and doesn't effect the steering, should be ok. And yes, I'll be instructing, as will a few other lads, just come and see me or one of the others as early as possible and 'book'. As long as one of us is free, you can often turn up before your next session, but best to reserve someone to make sure. I always advise people who fancy some instruction to do it as early as possible. Many wait until they think they're riding well so as not to embarass themselves, when what they're actually doing is perfecting their bad habits. Get some help early on and you can spend the rest of the day practicing. See ya there, not long now, yippee WeeJohnyB |

As good a piece of advice as I've heard on the subject of track days. Well said WJB. |
Bradders or Tim, I would love to have 1 session on borrowing your bullet cam please. I will bring my camcorder and see you up there. Thx Gezers Craig |
Carig - didnt offer, Mr S did, but happy for you to borrow it mate;) providing its on a duke and not that jap thing you bought......... |
Looks like your top of the list then :) |
Mr S, Tim, would love to borrow camera. Mine hasnt returned home in time from having lent it to a mate in Spain, so very issed off indeed  I'll pack the camcorder, wires, batteries etc and see if I can borrow on the day. Cheers! |
Jason - sure we can get one for you between us... |
If mine goes to Gbyte666, and Jason borrows Tim's, that's everyone covered so far :) |
So long as you get my Monnie on film going round the outside of those pesky 9**'s in the corners I dont mind who's shooting  |
Thanks Mr S thats great, I'll get the beers in. Mind you, see my post below this I need someone to hotwire the alarm for me first at TA4 so I can start the bike. My alarms packed up and stuck in imobilise. DOH why the last minute has this got to happen. Still better than packing up miles away from home I guess. Sorry Bradders I was'nt taking the ****, just did'nt read the thread right. It was Mr S & Tim offering & I know you would lend me yours if I asked nicely. Craig |
