please help

My Monster 1000ie decided to run very badly on the way back from the old devil today. No Engine management light.

Its running on one cylinder - front one is not firing on either plug. No apparent fuel line problems.

Anyone have any ideas ???

Rob

Errr ... sit back, have a beer and celebrate the renaissance of South African rugby?

Good win yesterday.

Mmmmm, wasn't it. And England finally managed to win an Ashes match. He's still pretty cheesed off about the bike. Probably the coil, but Snell's will have it on their doorstep tomorrow.

It was a great test match. I was on the edge of my seat watching that session this morning.

England deserved it, they played well through the whole game. 1-1, it's shaping up as a good contest.

Rob, not a lot you can do mate - except to get Snells to plug her in tomorrow. Let us know what they say.

Turned out to be the ECU. And guess what....... none in stock here or in Italy.......:flame::flame:. So a considerable time to wait without a bike. Long story short, after threats of buying a UJM, the Multi can be made available if he can insure it.......

He is NOT a happy bunny.

Borat 08-Aug-2005 20:30

Anyone got 5l petrol and a box of matches for me:mad::mad::flame:

AK 08-Aug-2005 21:35

Oh no!:o:(

and I take it they have tried all the dealers in the network for one?:puzzled:

That's what they said. Rob tried them all himself to check. Can't get insurance for the Multi without owning it. So now to see if anyone has a DP chip...... they are cheaper apparently, so perhaps Ducati will go for that. Otherwise Rob is expecting a GOOD cash price to buy another bike....:flame::flame::flame:

Goin to cut my riding time down so double not good :flame::flame:

Try Pro Twins They keep Sh****T loads of stock!

AK 08-Aug-2005 22:32

Karen - leave him at home. I'm sure the gardening needs doing - or similar:lol:

Sorry Rob - just couldnt resist, and I bet you aint going to see the funny side of that are you mate?:(

As its still in warranty, ask D(UK) what they can do to help, so Rob can have a bike to ride - maybe he can have one from another dealer that is going to cover the insurance? - I have heard of that happening once before.

Yeah, he'll try some more tomorrow. He's spoken to DUK a couple of times already.
