Desmosedici RR V\'s NCR Millona Ok, you're a minted geeza(ess) and you're looking for a new plaything. Cash is no object and you're thinking you'll have a toy for track days. You've narrowed the choice down to a Desmosedici RR and the NCR Poggipolini Millona (also see here under reviews) The 'sedici is rumoured to have 200 bhp and weighs 170kg's and costs 50,000 euro. The Millona (One Shot version) has 105 (or maybe more) bhp and weighs 120kg's and costs 37,000 euro. Which one do you choose and why? Don't forget the why!!! [Edited on 8-8-2005 by TP] |
PS - I've voted NCR at this stage, because I'm scared of a bike with a genuine 200bhp :o and the NCR would still be an absolute weapon. |
NCR WOOT! |
Got to be the NCR-it has enough power and only weighs 120kg-that's lighter than my little Gilera Saturno and with nearly 3 times the power:o-gimme, gimme, gimme! same as you really Tony, I would be frightened of the Sedici lovely though it is-the NCR I could RIDE. John-now where's my lottery ticket? |
if I had just over £16K I would be considering this http://www.mcnews.com.au/NewBikeCata...a_db5_1024.jpg |
NCR. 2v, you could crash and wouldn't need to comiit suicide, it doesn't look that special but would demolish the opposition, it's just gorgeous.... Ali |
If I was minted, i would have a garage full of bikes such as these :D so I would have both |
NCR - enough power, light weight. I couldn't handle 200bhp. |
NCR I wouldn't know how or where to use 200 bhp. |
Desmosedici RR without doubt... Gimme the 200BHP i can learn to live with it.........and the sound its gotta be awesome aint it Phil |
Got to be the sedici, not worried about the 200 bhp,i cant use 138 anywhere near its potential !!!! Just a thought though buy a 1000 sport strip it out 1080 kit bit of porting hey presto lightweight trackday tool. Butch |
Gotta be the Milona...it's just such a 'pure' concept. No fancy technology, just the best of the best components and a gutsy engine in a very, very light package. You could strip down a 1000 Supersport but you would get absolutely nowhere near the NCR in terms of desirability or performance. The NCR is also so exclusive that even though it's cheaper it'll make the sedici look common, and unlike the sedici which looks as if it's just flopped out of a jelly mould and IMHO is the ugliest Duke EVER, the NCR is utterly bloomin' gorgeous. The sedici is also, reputedly, going to need a complete engine rebuild after 2K miles whereas the NCR should be no more expensive to keep fettled than any other Duke. I would leave the sedici to the polishers who wan't a full set of race bred Dukes in their living room and get the NCR to ride. |
NCR every day of the week, that 'sedici is UGLY :barfy: 200bhp would be fun on trackdays, but most of us can't master 60bhp at the moment, so the NCR wins again - It's GORRRRRRGEOUS :D Better still, I'd get a supermono (and not the Ducati one) and buy a racetrack, and go around and around and around until I could ride properly! Sedici 200 BHP I don't need to twist the throttle all the way, and it'd be an investment. Also Everyone else will be on NCR's - dead common ;) [Edited on 8-8-2005 by Mr_S] |
***SEDICI*** any day of the week. u could get it restricted but that would be sacriledge. /ian |
