Bike sale question

Got a call for a company called www.Motorlink.org today looking details on my 998bp thats for sale , saying they have clients interested in my type of bike
Sounds good so far ,they gave me all the company details and everthing looks straight , but they are looking 80quid from me thats refundable if the bike is as i say is , when a buyer looks at it

Anyone any dealings with the company

JPM 15-Aug-2005 16:43

Nope, but that's the usual scam, give them your money because they have people in your area who want your bike and they'll put you in touch, better be ready for the rest mate, I had them for 6 months after selling my bike.

Guess you advertised in MCN or such like?

Brent 15-Aug-2005 16:44

Avoid these types of unsolicted canvassing. I've heard many stories like this. They won't really have any "clients" interested. Stick to the usual methods of selling, and don't hand over 80 quid!

I'm not an expert on buying or selling either bikes or cars, but it sounds like a well known scam to me.

Give them 80 quid and never hear from them again. Think about it. As a buyer, would you register interest with a broker or would you look on eBay or Autotrader yourself

Thats what i though , guess i can go back to painting the house

BARGEPOLE
DON'T TOUCH
WITH
A.

rearrange the above words, alternatively just give me £40 and i'll do nowt as well, but at least you'll have saved £40:devil:

If they have people in your area who are after a bike, how come the potential buyer didn't get in touch themself?

tell them to swivel

Steve this is what I said when they phoned, I gave them the chance to sell the bike and if they did I'd give them £80 then, funnily enough they didn't seem to keen on that though :rolleye:

When I advertised my Aprilia RSV Rin MCN a little while ago I had, over a two week period, over 20 calls from company`s saying nthey had 60+ people looking to buy my bike at the full asking price!

They nearly all wanted 60-100 pounds to sell it for me. When I told them that if these people wanted my bike they can contact me direct as I`m sure they would have read MCN etc, a couple of these company`s told me to "F" off on the phone.

Nice people!!!

ITS A SCAM!!!!!

Don`t have anything to do with them.

I keep getting calls on my mobile from 01592 777800 - a google search on that number lets you know what you need to.

Must be to do with the Busa I am selling.

They phoned twice on monday , i cancelled both calls & they aint phoned back since :D
They might have taken the hint ,or taking a rest only time will tell
