Sorted: Thankyou Flanks:Can anyone help on Sat (20th) afternoon? - Ride on of our bikes?

Alan cant fit 3 in the van - and between us we are (hopefully) taking 4 bikes to Popham - going down on the late Sat afternoon.

Is there anyone who could offer their services to ride the monster tricolour down on the Sat - and back on the Sun afternoon? - I'll be bimbling my monster there & back too.

Room in the van to sling in a tent & sleeping bag if you wish, or I can give you a lift on the back of my bike.....

Anyone want a ride? - its a stock 900ssie engine & rides in the manner of the monsters, just a wee bit taller than mine. (can provide sunglasses so you dont have to look at it!! ;) )

am hoping a bikeless person might want a ride.....

or Al will just have to leave the Kwak at home.......

Thanks for the offer mate tho.

t5mission 16-Aug-2005 10:27

Adam

AK 16-Aug-2005 10:37

you dont want to leave your dearly beloved in our garage mate!:o

Ta for the U2u - but hoping to find someone who may not have a bike - or else lives closer (we are Woking - close to Jct 10 & 11 M25) Suffolks a loooong way!:o

I'm not bothered if Al has to leave the kwak behind:lol: - its a Duke day for us anyway.

t5mission 16-Aug-2005 10:38

no probs

Dibble 16-Aug-2005 11:53

Sorry babes, I was going to try and do this for you but now can't make Popham as I have been roped into working at Teresas bar-b on Saturday eve as she has broken her collarbone .....

AK 16-Aug-2005 11:56

T5mission - if you want to pop in for a spot of lunch/ afternoon tiffin en-route if you are coming down to camp at Popham on the Sat - you are more than welcome to break your ride at our place on the way through.

Dibble - I'm not speaking to you!:P

Then have a word with the **** that took Teresa out on her way to work on Thursday morning ..... :(:P

Mark 16-Aug-2005 12:31

If you really want to have the bike at Popham, and you can get it to me Friday/Saturday, I'm more than happy to ride it there on Sunday. Ridden fully comp on a traders policy.

Or I pick it up Saturday, and leave it at mine (Garaged), and after Popham take it back 2 u'res, happy to leave the motor at u'rs.

AK 16-Aug-2005 12:37

Flanker!!:D (where's the kissy sign, when you want it!)

Will chat to AK later - and send you U2U later? - might be mucho later, as gotta go out with my bruv for a delayed birthday dinner tonight.

T5Mission - will U2U our address mate!

Dibble- give Teresa a hug from me, wont you dear?

No worries CK, I can't make Saturday night at Popham, as Oli is 16 tomorrow, so we're going out Saturday night for a meal. But the Monnie will be secure in the garage over night if Sir Alan is happy, and I'll come to Popham as early as required Sunday. Hey, this might be my 2nd DSC meet on a Duke!

Mark 16-Aug-2005 12:46

Hope Teresa gets well soon, and the bloke who took her out has a painful life.

AK 16-Aug-2005 12:47

Just got back in from my bruv's birthday scoff:D (hic... :D)

Flanks - AK thinks it best if you take the Lawson. Has just gone thru the paperwork & he is going to MOT it tomorrow (ran out last week) - and then tax it too:o
It started sweet as a nut just before we went out for dinner - totally amazing, as hasnt been out on the road/ or run up since 2004!:o Als going to commute on it till the end of the week - and give her a good blast tomorrow nite - on our rideout to the Mucky Duck.

So - will U2U you tomorrow if probs - otherwise see you on Sat to collect said green thingy (it goes faster than the monster special - lots more BHP) .
Ready for you to collect from lunchtime (or earlier if you wish) - we are leaving for Popham about 4ish, so could ride part way with you if you like.

Fankyoo for your help dear!:D

bradders 17-Aug-2005 00:01

cant belive it....dsc meet....in or on border with hants.....flanks will be seen ON A BIKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

progress.........................:o:burn::lol:

Mark 17-Aug-2005 00:05

This year ya cheeky git, but Al's being a wuss, and won't let me ride the monnie.

Quite looking forward to riding this Lawson infact. It'll need to be lunchtime ish, as I need to be free during the afternoon for family stuff. Read younger stepson CBT on his ped.

Happy I can be of service. :D

AK 17-Aug-2005 09:43

Its just every time someone has ridden the tri-colour - somehting has happened:o - not usually the riders fault tho to be fair.

Number plates fall off, paint scuffs on shock, chip in hugger,.....

anyway - the Lawson is much more valuable!:smug: - maybe you can sell it for us too eh Flanks?

I'm quite looking forward to riding her infact. Not ridden an old school sports bike, which is something I've fancied for a while.

All assuming the mot/tax happens of course! And what time will ya want me at Popham, oh and my fee.... Full english deary!

AK 20-Aug-2005 15:28

cheers Flanks:cool:

hope you will enjoy your ride home - you certainly pulled out of our road quite 'briskly';)

see you tomorrow with the 'grumbly one':D

C

Mark 21-Aug-2005 08:48

I did  I had to show off, c'mon!

Even brisker ride down the M3, when I said to Alan, the speedo was reading 85, he said you were doing about 110 - 120.

I have to say, I'm amazed how this bike handles, it really really sweet through the bends, you can get it leant right over ( The chicken strips are a lot smaller! ) and it just gos round the corner with such ease. Then when you lift it up, the sheer turn of speed is mind blowing. The front flirts with sky, road, sky road.

For a bike, built when i was 11, i'm shocked how it goes. Oh, and it goes from zero to warp in nano seconds!
