TP\'s had a brain explosion ...

... sorry, can't make the popham megameet this weekend.

I've entered the Desmo Due monster in the MRO round at Cadwell this weekend. I've entered minitwins.

Woohoo!!!

I'll be number 12 too, wicked!

Yes yes I know, I'll get whooped. Just like Saturday ... I don't care. I'm going for the experience and to enjoy it.

I'm really looking forward to this now.

So - if you want to pop in and say hello, feel free. I'm looking for a pit monkey too if someone is able to help. Basically someone to drive the van if I break me or something - who knows. Tell me to wind my neck in when I'm getting stressed etc, that sort of thing.

Anyone?

rockhopper 16-Aug-2005 17:35

Is it saturday or sunday tony?

Both, two races each day.

I'm going to try and make it to the practice day on the Friday as well and get a few laps in the afternoon. Just to get used to the bike on SuperCorsa Pro's as opposed to the diablo's we're running now.

rockhopper 16-Aug-2005 17:40

If my decorating schedule allows i might be able to get over on sunday!

domski 16-Aug-2005 17:56

I would go dude, but it's a 200 mile trek just to get to your place.

Good luck though chap, I'm sure you'll do better than I did on Sunday ;)

Mark 16-Aug-2005 18:00

Will it be raining?

Best of luck mate, if ir wasn't for Popham, I come with ya's, even tho ya a dirty rottern cheatin Ozz :P

TP 16-Aug-2005 18:14

Weather forecast is sunny :D

t5mission 16-Aug-2005 18:25

Dare me? I have to!! I'm still a novice so I have to wear a novice bib.

I may feel a touch out of place though ...

t5mission 16-Aug-2005 18:47

LOL how funny is that, I did a BSB practise at cadwell a fue years back and they were all over me rubbing tyres and all sorts. Next practise I took the bib off and was left alone funny that.

Anyway have fun.

butch890 16-Aug-2005 19:15

Nice one TP, hope it goes well, not sure I'd pick a MRO event, well not with my 583 as making the quallifying time would be hard work. I would still like to try Minitwins with North Glos at Pembrey, may yet happen.
But best of luck hope you havve a cracking weekend.
My mates lad Craig Polden should be there somewhere near the front of the Minitwins.

ali 16-Aug-2005 19:24

Great idea TP. Hope you have a stormer and show the overpowered fools how to do it! :D

See you Monday.

Ali

TP 17-Aug-2005 19:17

Thanks to Steve 'Shaggy' @ Wraysbury Tyres for your help mate. You're a top geeza!

I cannot believe it!!!

The weather forecast yesterday said dry and sunny!!! All weekend!!!

How can it go from that to light rain all weekend? That is so crap!

Oh and we are allowed wets - I've organised some supercorsa pro's that I'll be picking up tomorrow but I may need to organise some wets as well!

BUGGER!!!

Kev, having spoken to Tony to some extent over several months, I know why he's doing it, and I don't blame him ;)

I wouldn't be so sure about that. His "help" for the weekend is also Australian. ;-)

And my ohlins shock would bolt straight in ....

phillc 18-Aug-2005 13:58

Hang the expense, don't sell the 996 but ride it in Sound of Thunder instead......

You know you want to.

:)

It's not such a bad idea you know .... but I'd rather spend more time in a class more dependant on corner speed than horsepower. Like Desmo Due or Minitwins.

Mark 18-Aug-2005 15:11

Race the 996, you can't sell it anyway!! :P

psychlist 18-Aug-2005 17:49

So would an 800ssie be elgible for minitwins?

skidlids 18-Aug-2005 19:00

As I understand it Paul the answer to your question is yes. As of this year they I believe have allowed in 800CC aircooled bikes.

TP 18-Aug-2005 19:06

800SSie - Yes

Air-cooled twins up to 820cc are eligible. And that Paul, is my bike of choice for minitwins.

phoenix n max 21-Aug-2005 10:51

So how did you find it TP ?
Can see you completed all the sessions and finished without mishap so come on spill the beans - how did the little DD bike do ? :)

domski 21-Aug-2005 11:59

He's still there racing today Lin.

Yesterday was practice, Qualifying and race 1.

Today is 2 more races.

Last night I believe he was extremely drunk, judging by the torrent of ungentlemanly texts I got

I'll let TP reveal results and lap times, coz I don't wanna embarrass him :P
