crm250 29-Aug-2005 11:21

Sorry, just not for me that. never did like those seat units over the std item - call me old fashioned but its a timless design and should be left alone

Carbon749 29-Aug-2005 11:23

TP 29-Aug-2005 13:20

Blong - I'm wwith CRM. I don't like those seat units on that shape.

moto748 29-Aug-2005 14:06

The seat unit's about the only part I don't mind too much!

But the fairing, wheels, amd exhaust guard.... uuhh!!!

Ian 748 29-Aug-2005 15:04

Just waiting for it to roll of the screen.:smug:

keefer 29-Aug-2005 16:08

Eubank 29-Aug-2005 17:39

My eyes hurt - why doesn't it surprise me that's it's American, did God deny them the 'taste' gene?

ath748 29-Aug-2005 18:00

I think blong.

The exhaust shield and wheels are particularly ghastly.

andyb 29-Aug-2005 18:33

different strokes for different folks and thats different. unfortunately its a no no for me.
have you ever thought of going back to a japanese bike???

Bionicle 29-Aug-2005 22:33

I like the paddock stand :)

khu996 29-Aug-2005 22:36

Nasty looking Yank creation

zhed44 29-Aug-2005 23:01

i like the shape of the wheels, but not the blinginess. also, the belly pan add on thingy and the seat unit spoil the lines of the bike and thus loses the dynamic diagonal upsweep of the original design which gives the bike a purposeful and agressive stance. he's made the bike look heavy and clumsy - which, some to think of it, would suit the average american i 'spose

not only that, but in covering the exposed exhaust work with the bellypan, he has taken a retrograde step in bike aesthetics as the 916 idea of leaving mechanical bits exposed was way ahead of its time - for example, look at the design of the current R1 and cbr 600rr, where the fairing is very minimalist and leaves lots of engine parts on display.

in general, apart from carbon bits and bobs, when it comes to ducatis, leave well alone. if you want a bike to inflict tasteless mods upon then buy a bandit (got one of those as well - semi streetfightered)

I like the wheels, different but not too far from a set of Marchesini's, not chrome though... next they'll have spinners on them!!

I don't mind the paintwork, different but not ghastly, although yellow/orange in colour doesn't look right.

And that's the good points really, that exhaust shield leaps out at you, the screen, polished rearsets, the seat unit.... plain wrong!

Festa748 30-Aug-2005 15:30

After you with that bucket Carbon749 :barfy:

Wylie1 30-Aug-2005 15:56

It just needs to be ' slammed ' & a 12 inch longer swingarm fitted - then it'd be totally wicked man !!!!

:puzzled: Why would anybody beat their own bike with an ugly stick :puzzled:

rcgbob44 30-Aug-2005 23:43

Pass the bucket....................................how can anyone paint a bike yellow!;)

philthy 30-Aug-2005 23:48

A set of fairy lights would set it off nicely.

Webcore 02-Sep-2005 11:06

Those seat units look great - on an mv
it's just wrong really

Half man half mole 08-Sep-2005 11:34
