dont normally like these sort of things but actually like it quite a bit.

Sorry, just not for me that. never did like those seat units over the std item - call me old fashioned but its a timless design and should be left alone

The seat unit's about the only part I don't mind too much!

i like the shape of the wheels, but not the blinginess. also, the belly pan add on thingy and the seat unit spoil the lines of the bike and thus loses the dynamic diagonal upsweep of the original design which gives the bike a purposeful and agressive stance. he's made the bike look heavy and clumsy - which,some to think of it, would suit the average american i 'spose :devil:

not only that, but in covering the exposed exhaust work with the bellypan, he has taken a retrograde step in bike aesthetics as the 916 idea of leaving mechanical bits exposed was way ahead of its time - for example, look at the design of the current R1 and cbr 600rr, where the fairing is very minimalist and leaves lots of engine parts on display.

in general, apart from carbon bits and bobs, when it comes to ducatis, leave well alone. if you want a bike to inflict tasteless mods upon then buy a bandit (got one of those as well - semi streetfightered)

I like the wheels, different but not too far from a set of Marchesini's, not chrome though... next they'll have spinners on them!!

I don't mind the paintwork, different but not ghastly, although yellow/orange in colour doesn't look right.

And that's the good points really, that exhaust shield leaps out at you, the screen, polished rearsets, the seat unit.... plain wrong!

It just needs to be ' slammed ' & a 12 inch longer swingarm fitted - then it'd be totally wicked man !!!!
