Black trackday fairings - where from? I've got some red and yellow trackday fairings and was going to get them sprayed up in black but someone mentioned that it 'might' be cheaper just to buy a set which are already black. I've seen some track bikes with the fairings so: how much and where from? BTW, I want the full-race jobbies with no light cutouts and preferably with the full belly pan (although not too fussed about that). Ta very mooch, best regards simon |
Bodykit Barry down the road from me, does any colour you like, I've had a set for my 998 when I had it and many others off the board have had them too, his number is 07748 765842, say Jon gave you the number ;) |
How much(ish)? As I don't want to call him now and I'm an impatient kindaguy. What's included and how much? Just ball park figures would keep me interested until tomorrow. Thanks simon |
Not sure how to add a link to another threadm but have look in the photo section for this, see below) as there are pic's included (only just added today). Try the guys at QB Carbon. Ask for Ian on TELEPHONE >> +44 (0)1949 845172 Just fitted race style fairing and belly pan by QB 749 / 999 OK, picked a race fairing from QB Carbon on Saturday morning . What do you think ? Cons : Cut out for screen did not seem to fit the high lift screen I had so out with the Dremel You need the best part of the day to mess around and make it all fit as youd like it to Had to drill 4 holes to finish off the fitting, 2 in the top fairing and 2 in the belly pan Pros : The red is a very good match for Ducati red The red is impregnated in to the gel coat and the resin, if you scratch it or get a stone chip then it still shows red and not the normal white fibre glass Same with the black of the belly pan Race style fairing will fit over head light unit with out removing the head light unit Once all tweaked and fitted a full fairing and belly pan swap is done in around 15 mins Not the normal thin glass fibre stuff that breaks every time you look at it, top quality, very strong and still light Got the seat unit as well, just not fitted it yet. |
Bary's kit includes.... Nosecone Seat unit (possible bracket as well) side panels v piece and belly pan approx price is anywhere between 250 and 300 I think great quality kit and really helpful bloke! |
Yep Barry's your boy. I had some fairings from him fitted to my old 996R; ![]() I reckon this was when she was looking her best too!!! Tim |

Thanks for that. Is that the kit in your avatar? Is it matt, shiny and black throughout (so as not to show up scratches). BTW, who did your number boards - did they come like that or were they just cut out of vinyl? Thanks again simon |
Simon By kit is one of Barry's but has since been painted by a mate and its actually metallic black with white number boards, although it was only a cheap paintjob to match the tank as I was getting it painted and I needed numberboards. The black kit is great though as its impregnated not painted so even if you scratch it its still black! |
Gloss black |
Tim I know Bob looks good, but the R does look pretty darn good in that picture. We both just commmented on it at the same time and decided the bit that makes it stand out as special is those gorgoues OZ's I knew I should have bought them off you!! |
Yeh, I agree - I can't remember who I sold the OZ's to, ebay job I think. I did replace them with the carbon dymags, but they didn't look as good. I did also get some other black fairings in carbon for her that had number boards on them. I reckon the picture was when she looked her best, numberboards would have just finished her off nicely too. (and some 54mm termis). I do have some black fairings for my new 996R too!!! Watch this space. Tim |
Pic of the carbon fairings and dymags (at a moist Brands) ![]() |
tim what a stunning bike and those wheels looked awesome, dare i ask how much for a set ?? |

The OZ's were not too bad (relatively) - circa £850 - the carbon Dymags have magnesium rims and were priced around the £1300 mark. Tim |

im fussy I know  |

Doh!!! That's what I meant!! ;) |
Carbon rims and magnesium centres - a sure fire recipe for galvanic corrosion! One bit of salty electrolyte on that interface and you will find the magnesium turning to powder in a BIG way...reducing structural integrity of the joint and seriously effecting the safety of the wheel. NOT recommended for anything but a pampered trackday/Sunday afternoon rocket ship - that's why Tim had them!!!:lol: Looking the dogs though! R X |
there bolted together. never seen a broken set |

Keefer, I'm not saying that they will break, just that the material combination is not ideal for all weather/all year round riding. The fact that the wheels are bolted together does not make a big difference - in fact if the anodising of the spokes is carried out before the bolt holes are drilled, this will allow corrosion to start even quicker!
