Music again ...

Yeah I know we've done this one, but it was a while ago ... and I'm rediscovering some music at the moment ....

Currently TP has selections from the following bands on shuffle in Media Player:

Alice in Chains
Stone Temple Pilots
Soundgarden
Pearl Jam
Foo Fighters

In particular I'm really getting into Alice in Chains - I used to listen to this album lots when I had a flat in Sydney with a mate of mine. Ahh ... reminiscing ...

Did I mention I have tickets to see the Foo's later :D:D:D:D

dickieducati 01-Sep-2005 17:11

JPM 01-Sep-2005 17:14

Would love to see the Foo's but it's always flippin' festivals, and I'm not standing in a muddy field all day.

Currently on the ipod I've got

Kaiser Chiefs
Gorrillaz
Sparks - The best of :D
Depeche Mode - new single and remixes :D
Then it all gets messy with loads of dance etc and a few podcasts

TP 01-Sep-2005 17:22

No muddy fields for me my norvern monkey, I've done plenty of festivals - I'll be seeing them at Earl's Court :D

JPM 01-Sep-2005 17:25

Yeah, we missed the first and second batches of tickets and ended up paying twice the face value. But, it's still a lot less than what they are already.

I'm feeling it aleady, it's going to be HUGE! I'm making some big plans for that night ;)

TP 02-Sep-2005 16:06

I'm 29 Craig!

As is evidenced by the fact that I'm now listening to ....

They Might Be Giants :D

Ian Harris 02-Sep-2005 16:22

Random play's throwing up a nice chronological range:

Ressurection Shuffle (Ashton, Gardner & Dyke)
Lean on Me (Carter USM)
Transmission (Joy Division)
Scooby Snacks (Fun Lovin Criminals)
The Pusher (Steppenwolf)

Nothing from the noughties though, I don't think there's been anything good yet (too hot for a coat, so I'll just scarper!)

TP 04-Sep-2005 00:37

Rage Against The Machine

Not that I'm angry or anything ...

Funnily enough, the title of the song on now is - Calm Like a Bomb

:D

Ian Harris 04-Sep-2005 00:43

Aretha Franklin: A Change Is Gonna Come...what a track, what a performance......awesome :D :D :D

I think I better turn it up a little, so the neighbours can enjoy it as well!

Ian Harris 04-Sep-2005 01:14

Fook, wot happened to my italics :o

TP 04-Sep-2005 01:18

Italics went south!

I've decided I need to unwind a bit ... I'm now listening to "Set the controls for the heart of the Sun" - Pink Floyd from Ummagumma.

Those boys took some SERIOUS drugs!!! :D

I just loved Monty's quote from an earlier thread:

How cool must that have been?

Talking of cool, now listening to "Respect Yourself" by the Staple Singers...soooopurb :D (If a little old fashioned)

TP 04-Sep-2005 01:36

I'm now onto "Shine on you Crazy Diamond"

I was reading that quote from Monty and thought hang about, I've cocked up my album for "Set the controls ..." but it was actually on Ummagumma and Saucerful of Secrets. I have both so I didn't really notice it .... I guess when I first started getting into Pink Floyd it was all a bit of a blur - ahem.

Here's a good discography link for Pink Floyd - brilliant musicians!

TP 04-Sep-2005 01:43

Ooh, Careful with that Axe Eugene ;)

Ian Harris 04-Sep-2005 01:46

I was going to shut up shop for the night, as I hope to go out for the Kent meet tomorrow morning, but all this Floyd talk hs got me yearning for some Echos , and its only a short track  (picks CD out of rack, places in player and gives the Smashy and Nicey "Bachman-Turner-Overdrive lever "a good pull)

OY!!! Arnold Layne! Don't Do It Again!

TP 04-Sep-2005 01:50

LOL - short ....

Wish you were here ....

Ian Harris 04-Sep-2005 02:12

Floyd reunion: Definitely the high spot from Live 8. And, as for the Scissor Sisters rendition of Comfortably Numb, what's all that about :puzzled:

Anyway, over and out...Still fancy making that Kent ride-out.

:)

Scissor Sisters - sheesh ....

I forget how much I like some of these songs you know .... listening to "One of my turns" now ... this is a seriously cool song!

"Are all these your guitars?" "Do you wanna take a bath?"

:D

MARTIN H 04-Sep-2005 09:27

I,ve got a bike you can ride it if you like? Its got a basket , a bell that rings and things to make it good. I'd give it to you if I could but I borrowed it.

TP 07-Sep-2005 20:01

Audioslave

... for those that like Chris Cornell with short hair ...

Ozz 07-Sep-2005 20:42

Audioslave - have been meaning to get hold of a copy of one of their albums for a while.

TP 07-Sep-2005 20:46

I can 'lend' you a copy if you like. Do you know how to use ftp to download stuff?

Old enough to remember that Syd was the Floyd, young enough to enjoy new tunes and wise enough to know that theres so much music out there that you might enjoy so shouldn't waste time listening to 30 year old music :)

Currently listening to Thievery Corps radio 1 one world set bootleg from earlier this year with some top remixes of Cosmic Game and about to go into Tosca's J.A.C album.

sparkin 07-Sep-2005 22:44

Old Skool me,Aerosmith,John Cougar,Jethro Tull....ooh and Good Charlotte,just for the kids:D
