Wish us Luck!

Well all the planning and worrying is finally over and on Wednesday morning we start the move to Spain :D The last week has been frantic with Jacqui raiding ebay for furniture and then running all over the south coast to pick it up. On Friday the packing started when we picked up the trailer

http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2004-...3/Img_0703.jpg

then the job of trying to get all the stuff in started

http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2004-...3/Img_0704.jpg

although there had to be time for tea breaks

http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2004-...3/Img_0708.jpg

and on Wednesday we start the journey to

http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2004-...Y-Img_0631.jpg

and new horizons

wish us Luck!!

Best wishes from Brenda and me too Henry.

Where abouts is your new place in Spain?

Brenda's brother lives in the Sierra Nevada above Orgiva where Chris Stewart's book Driving over Lemons is based - are you anywhere near?

Hopefully we will be there in October.

Anyway, bon voyage mon brave

WeeJohnyB 05-Sep-2005 12:42

All the best Henners mate, you'll be missed over here, but I'm sure you'll get yourself to a pc to keep up to date with what's going on in the UK.

Looks and sounds like a life changing experience for which I envy you, take care and good luck.

So you managed to get the Saga Rep job in Southern Spain, when do the coach tours start? Seriously best of luck to you both and don't be a stranger.

Drive safe

Henners 05-Sep-2005 15:27

Thank you ...

... to Pietro and everyone for your kind words. We already have a small place on the coast (bought when the prices were very cheap) at Salobrena and the new place is at the head of the Los Guajares valley about 25 minutes in from the coast. We will be flitting back and forth until the New Year when we hope to make the final move all being well. For those of you wondering where we're going please see:

http://www.ayto-salobrena.org/en/index.htm

and click on 'Close to everything and close to everyone' It's only 1,800 miles by road pulling a trailer ..... gulp :o

Hope to catch up with the Hants/Surrey/Sussex and Kent folks on trips back. Cheers H

Jools 05-Sep-2005 15:40

Ahhh...1800 miles so obviously not so close to us then

But tantalisingly close to Almeria. I can see the logic.

Good luck Henners, if I ever find myself riding around southern Spain with a raging thirst for a beer (which would be all the time then) I'll know which door to knock on.

RD 05-Sep-2005 17:46

Dear Henry & Jacqui,

Good luck and best wishes :)
Enjoy life.

Richard, Christine & Sons.

P.S. You'll be needing a Numptystrada then :smug: ;) :D

Good luck Henners... All the best mate :)

ericthered40 06-Sep-2005 00:21

Sun Sea and Sauciness you lucky bugger, good luck :saint:

Henners 06-Sep-2005 02:21

Thanks everyone ..

... your good wishes are very important to us. The 996R is going into storage until the spring and then I'll decide whether to ride her down or keep her here for blasts when we return from time to time. Those of you who know the coast roads in that area - especially from Nerja to Salobrena -will know it's Ducati territory. Just finished packing, time to call it a day. All the very best :D

JPM 06-Sep-2005 14:18

Hmmmm Almeria and Jerez aren't too far away, myself and Lily will be flying into Malaga beginning of October and doing a few days touring before we head to Jerez, I could get you that sangria for the book you sent up to me.

All the best Henners, I'm not at all jealous :)

MARTIN H 06-Sep-2005 14:27

Best wishes and good luck to you! Looks like a beautiful location youve got there. Hope you are very happy there! :)

I'm surprised no one has offered to store it for you Henry:D
